Surficial Geology Line Type 25k
The Yukon Geological Survey (YGS) has compiled over 195 surficial geology maps into a standardized GIS format, providing approximately 80% coverage of the territory. The maps range in scales from 1:250,000 to 1:10,000 with spatial overlap between scales. The original maps were produced by various agencies, including the Geological Survey of Canada, YGS, Yukon Government, universities, and the City of Whitehorse.All original feature descriptions have been preserved and also converted to standardized values using the Yukon terrain classification system. The compilation includes 4 GIS datasets and supporting documents available for download via [YGS integrated data system](https://data.geology.gov.yk.ca/Compilation/33) (YGSIDS) or GeoYukon. A .lyr file is [provided](https://data.geology.gov.yk.ca/Compilation/33) to symbolize feature classes and differentiate overlapping maps at different scales. (ADP), on behalf of the Government of Alberta, the ATS v4.1 Polygons - Quarter Section with Road Allowance layer contains polygons that represent the location of Quarter Sections and adjacent dissolved Road Allowance Segment polygons, derived from the Master Alberta Township System points file published as ATS Version 4.1, dated March 31, 2005, and clipped to an updated Alberta Data Partnerships Ltd. (ADP) created version of the Alberta provincial boundary.

This dataset shows the surficial geology points for the Province of Saskatchewan and is designed for the Resource Map of Saskatchewan. Mapping in support of the dataset includes years of field observations which were then compiled and integrated into this dataset. The data was created as a file geodatabase feature class and output for public distribution. 1:1,000,000 scale surficial geology points map of Saskatchewan symbol layer. **Please Note – All published Saskatchewan Geological Survey datasets, including those available through the Saskatchewan Mining and Petroleum GeoAtlas, are sourced from the Enterprise GIS Data Warehouse. They are therefore identical and share the same refresh schedule.
Southern Ontario Surficial 3D Model
To support improved groundwater geoscience knowledge for southern Ontario, a regional 3-D model of the surficial geology of southern Ontario has been developed as a part of a collaboration between the Ontario Geological Survey and the Geological Survey of Canada. Covering approximately 66,870 km2 in area, the model is a synthesis of existing geological models, surficial geology mapping, and subsurface data. The model is a simplified 9-layer reclassification of numerous mapped local surficial sediment formations in places over 200 m thick with a total volume of approximately 2,455 km3. The model integrates 1:50,000 scale surficial geology mapping with 90 m bathymetrically corrected topographic digital elevation model (DEM) and 8 existing local 3-D models. Archival subsurface data include 10,237 geotechnical and stratigraphic boreholes, 3,312 picks from geophysical surveys, 15,902 field mapping sites and sections, 537 monitoring and water supply wells and 282,995 water well records. Roughly corresponding to regional aquifer and aquitard layers, primary model layers are (from oldest to youngest): Bedrock, Basal Aquifer, Lower Sediment, Regional Till, Post Regional Till Channel Fill, Glaciofluvial Sediment, Post Regional Till Mud, Glaciolacustrine Sand and Recent Sediment / Organics. Modelling was completed using an implicit modelling application (LeapFrog®) complemented by an expert knowledge approach to data classification and rules-based Expert System procedure for data interpretation and validation. An iterative cycle of automated data coding, intermediate model construction and manual data corrections, expert evaluations, and revisions lead to the final 3-D model. A semi-quantitative confidence assessment has been made for each model layer surface based on data quality, distribution and density. This surficial geology model completes the development of a series of regional 3-D geological and hydrogeological models for southern Ontario.
Vegetation Inventory Photo Points - Whitehorse - 10k
This point feature indicates the location of photo centre points during data capture for the Whitehorse Forest Inventory. The field work for the inventory was carried out during the winter of 2004/2005 with the project delivered by the contractor in October 2005. Delineation was based on 1:10,000 black and white photography acquired by the City of Whitehorse in 2001.
