The ORN is a provincewide geographic database of over 250,000 kilometres of municipal roads, provincial highways, and resource and recreational roads. The ORN is the authoritative source of roads data for the Government of Ontario. Road names in the ORN are the official names provided by the authoritative jurisdiction for each road segment, such as a municipality or the Ontario Government. The list of authoritative sources used for the ORN is in the “Ontario Road Network - List of Partners” document in the Supporting Files section below. You can also find the authoritative jurisdiction for a specific road feature in the Jurisdiction table in ORN Road Net Element. ORN Road Net Element requires an advanced knowledge of GIS including LRS and complex table relationships. This is a spatial layer showing Ministry of Forests Free Use Permits. These are permits issued by the Ministry that authorize the permittee to cut and use Crown timber without charge. The permit is confined to a small area and for short durations of time.

The Public Lands Camping Pass does not apply in the Kananaskis Conservation Pass area. The pass does not apply to: private, municipal, or federally owned lands. Provincial Parks, Wildland Provincial Parks, Provincial Recreation Areas. Wilderness Areas, Ecological Reserves, Heritage Rangelands, Natural Areas. All acts and regulations will continue to apply including the Recreation Access Regulation that applies to agricultural dispositions. The boundary represents the external boundary of the pass area.
