Vaccine Provider app for the Flu and COVID-19 vaccination season.This application displays the location of COVID-19 and Influenza vaccine providers within the province of Manitoba. Vaccination sites are symbolized as a pharmacy, medical clinic, provincial vaccine clinic, etc. Other information available for each site includes provider name, whether they are accepting appointments, the address, and any special notes or restrictions on the location. Manitoba’s Regional Health Authorities are also displayed for context.The vaccine provider data within the app is populated by Manitoba Health, Seniors and Long-Term Care.

As the COVID-19 pandemic spreads, researchers and health professionals have noted large differences in the impact that the infection has on individuals. Whereas some remain asymptomatic and unaware of their infection or experience only mild symptoms, others require hospitalization, ventilation, and may even die. As research evidence accumulates, both nationally and internationally, it appears that certain health characteristics, such as obesity or the presence of chronic conditions, increase the risk of severe outcomes among those who are infected with the novel coronavirus.To better understand which segments of the Canadian population may be vulnerable to severe health outcomes related to COVID-19, Statistics Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada have worked collaboratively to build an index of underlying health conditions in the adult household population. Using information from the 2017/2018 Canadian Community Health Survey, new data tables released today estimate the proportion of the adult household population who may be at greater risk of severe health outcomes related to COVID-19 due to the presence of underlying health conditions.

The Department of National Defence has designated Firing Practice and Exercise Areas off the coasts of Canada. Activities in these areas may include bombing practice from aircraft, air-to-air, air-to-sea or ground firing, and anti-aircraft firing, etc. In Atlantic Canada, the Nova Scotia Area includes sea area employments for sub-surface operations and firing exercises (FIREX). The Gulf of St. Lawrence Area, excluding the French territorial waters of Saint-Pierre et Miquelon, includes sea area employments for sub-surface operations and underwater demolition training. The RADARSAT Constellation is the evolution of the RADARSAT Program with the objective of ensuring data continuity, improved operational use of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and improved system reliability. The three-satellite configuration provides daily revisits of Canada's vast territory and maritime approaches, as well as daily access to 90% of the world's surface.RCM is tasked solely by the Government of Canada, to acquire data, first and foremost in support of Government of Canada services and needs. RCM data and services contributes to ensuring the safety and security of Canadians; monitoring and protecting the environment; monitoring of climate change; managing Canada’s natural resources; and stimulating innovation, research and economic development. In addition to these core user areas, there are expected to be a wide range of ad hoc uses of RADARSAT Constellation data in many different applications within the public and private sectors, both in Canada and internationally. The current data set reflects the acquisition plans that are designed to meet the RCM SAR imaging demands of the Government of Canada. These are being made available publicly in advance of the acquisitions. To meet the data needs of the Government of Canada, acquisitions may be changed without notice. After their acquisition and processing, the RCM image products listed in the current data set, will be delivered to the Earth Observation Data Management System - EODMS (https://www.eodms-sgdot.nrcan-rncan.gc.ca/index-en.html) portal of Natural Resources Canada. Users can register to the EODMS portal as public users to retrieve the RCM image products. In 2018, Fisheries and Oceans Canada initiated the Multidisciplinary Arctic Program (MAP) – Last Ice, the first ecosystem study of the poorly characterized region of the Lincoln Sea in the Marine Protected Area of Tuvaijuittuq, where multiyear ice still resides in the Arctic Ocean. MAP-Last Ice takes a coordinated approach to integrate the physical, biochemical, and ecological components of the sea ice-ocean connected ecosystem and its response to climate and ocean forcings. The cross-disciplinary program establishes baseline ecological knowledge for Tuvaijuittuq and, in particular, for its unique multiyear ice ecosystem. The database provides baseline data on the abundance of bacteria and viruses in multi- and first-year ice and in surface waters of the Lincoln Sea in Tuvaijuittuq, and their relation to bio-physical conditions. The data were collected during the 2018 spring field campaign of the MAP-Last Ice Program, at an ice camp offshore of Canadian Forces Station (CFS) Alert.

The Species at Risk (SAR) Program is responsible for carrying out DFO’s mandate under the Species at Risk Act (SARA) to protect, recover and conserve all listed aquatic SAR in Canada. As part of this mandate, this spatial database has been developed to identify areas in which aquatic species listed under SARA may be found.Distribution and range information are identified for species listed as Endangered, Threatened or Special Concern under SARA.Distribution (range) polygons and lines were assembled by regional SARA biologists using the best available information, including COSEWIC status reports, recovery potential assessments, academic literature, and expert opinion. These spatial data support the protection, recovery and conservation of species listed as Endangered, Threatened or Special Concern under SARA. Species distributions are also described and displayed in Recovery Strategies, Action Plans and/or Management Plans. Discrepancies may exist between the distribution data shown in a species’ SARA recovery document and the current spatial data. Please contact DFO for more information on any data discrepancies.
