WSA - Water Polygon Features (50,000)
One of the spatial views of the BC WATERSHED ATLAS 50K, which is the digital basemap representation of the aquatic Man-made waterbodies, Wetlands and Double-line Rivers based on the 1:50,000 scale Canadian National Topographic Series of Maps.
GeoAI - GeoBase Series
GeoAI are buildings, hydrography, forests, and roads automatically extracted using Deep Learning models applied to a source dataset, typically aerial or satellite images. The primary aim of GeoAI is to increase Canada's availability of high-resolution foundational geospatial data for both spatial and temporal coverage. The infrastructure and expertise put in place by NRCan enables a rapid, efficient, and scalable data creation process through the use of leading-edge technology and Artificial Intelligence models. Published datasets for a given source can be revisited at a later date as more accurate models are developed and put into production. For now, only static files are available, but as the series develops, new products and services will be added.Several use cases of GeoAI data for change detection have been created. Historical aerial photography of Indian Residential Schools
To support a wide range of efforts to understand the geographic context and historical conditions of the Indian residential schools sites for a wide range of stakeholders, Indigenous Services Canada has created a Web service to access and visualize historical aerial photography for those sites. The Historical aerial photography of Indian residential schools dataset contains digital scans of aerial photographs that were acquired from 1924 to 1998 over Indian Residential school sites and surrounding areas across Canada, as well as basic information about each photography and depicted site. The digital images were georeferenced, to match ground coordinates, saved in a resampled uncompressed raster format and compiled in a single mosaic layer. The dataset does not include the complete range of aerial photographs of each site. Instead, an attempt has been made to select a single optimal photograph for each site based on good photographic quality and the site's years of operation. In some cases no photograph is available, and in others a photograph was only available after the years of operation. The source scanned prints was obtained from the archives of the National Air Photo Library (NAPL) of Natural Resources Canada (NRCAN). This dataset should be considered evergreen as new information and photography sources are identified. It should be noted that this dataset can only be downloaded using ArcGIS and ArcPro software as well as other GIS software.

Geographic bathymetric grid data at 100 m x 100 m pixel resolution.Datum: WGS84Collaboration of Canada, the United States of America and the European Union as part of the Atlantic Ocean Research Alliance's second project under the Galway Statement. Project mapped the North Atlantic seafloor along a transect from Halifax, Canada to Tromsø, Norway to further the understanding of marine habitats, conservation and navigation. Chief Scientist / Primary Investigator name: Paola Travaglini Platform: CCGS Louis S. Sound Velocity Profile measurements:In-situ sound velocity profiles were applied.Note on accuracy/S-44 survey standards:Considering the intended output from this survey (IHO Order 1a - Areas shallower than 100 metres where under-keel clearance is less critical but features of concern to surface shipping may exist.) and using an average depth of 2000m as ‘d’ in the IHO Standard Equation - the allowable Total Vertical Uncertainty (TVU) must be < 26m which indeed the data has achieved (by comparison with overlapping datasets from other surveys/agency data).IHO Order 1aHorizontal positioning accuracy: 5.0 m + 5% of depth (95% Confidence level)(~105 m at a mean depth of 2000 m)Vertical positioning accuracy: 2.5 m < 26 m = Sqrt((0.5 m)^2+(0.013 x 2000 m)^2)

This the data for the Winnipeg AVPA Regulation's interactive web map. It contains two polygon datasets that help users determine whether a property is affected by requirements in the regulation and a point dataset to help users navigate to propertiesThis is the data for the Winnipeg Airport Vicinity Protection Area Regulation's interactive web map. It was developed to help interested parties determine whether a property is affected by the Airport Vicinity Protection Area Regulation. To protect and foster the airport’s operations and continued growth, while ensuring orderly and efficient development within Winnipeg, the Province has adopted an Airport Vicinity Protection Area Regulation under The City of Winnipeg Charter. The regulation defines two protection areas called "Area 1" and "Area 2".These areas provide direction on where and what type of residential development may take place near the airport. Area 1 comprises of lands immediately adjacent to the airport, where no new residential development will be permitted, except for replacement of buildings and minor infilling. Area 2 is located further away from the airport, where new or replacement residential development may be constructed. All development within the regulated lands must comply with indoor noise level limits set out in the Regulation. The parcel boundaries in this interactive map are representations of parcels as defined by plan of subdivision or plan of survey registered at the Land Titles Office. This type of property boundary was chosen because the land division in these plans is used to define property ownership in Manitoba.
Terrain Inventory Mapping (TIM) Detailed Polygons with Short Attribute Table Spatial View
Terrain Inventory Mapping (TIM) Detailed Polygons (STE_TER_INVENTORY_POLYS_SVW) contains TIM polygons with key and amalgamated (concatenated) attributes derived from the Resource Inventory Standards Committee (RISC) standard attributes. This layer is derived from the [STE_TEI_ATTRIBUTE_POLYS_SP](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/f2cd2cc3-5f58-481c-bf3c-64934acb6fad) layer by filtering on the PROJECT_TYPE attribute. Project types include: TIM and TIMSOI. TIM is multi-purpose and divides the landscape into units according to surficial material, surface expression and geomorphological process using the Terrain Classification System for British Columbia. Most of the inventory mapping was completed in the 1970s and 1980s on 1 to 50,000 scale base maps using air photo interpretation with selective field checking, and manual transfer and drafting of paper maps. These maps were later digitized and have been converted from IGDS or CAPAMP to ArcInfo to Geodatabase. TIM Detailed Polygon layer should be used in conjunction with [TER Project Boundaries](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/ad2f6d1e-cb53-4308-9263-e8deb731b996) which contain boundaries (study areas) and attributes describing each project (project level metadata), plus links to the locations of other data associated with the project (e.g., reports, polygon datasets, plotfiles, legends). TIM inventory polygons with full RISC attributes can be accessed through the [Terrestrial Ecosystem Information (TEI) Data Distribution Packages](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/8fd15e4e-e7b1-4566-81d1-1ff8947bfd46). **Current version**: v12 (2026-06-22)

Terrestrial Ecosystem Information Scanned Map Boundary
STE_SCANNED_MAP_BOUNDARY_SP includes an index of the mapsheet grid location of Soils, Terrain, Ecosystems and related scanned maps (including Agriculture Capability and Climate Capability maps). These maps are intended for on-screen viewing or printing. The majority of the maps have been geo-referenced. Mapping may not cover the whole map grid area. Some maps are interim or draft and may have been superseded. Some files are of related legends and map project text. Associated scanned map boundary attributes describe the project map (project level metadata) and provide a link for downloading the map, plus links to related reports, geo-referenced maps, and GIS digital data available from other sources. ATTENTION - The IMAGE_URL link is only useable by BC government staff. Public users can download the scanned maps by using the ECOCAT_URL link. There is no charge for the scanned map files. Please note that some maps and more recent mapping may also be available in digital GIS format. See - Ecosystem and Terrain Mapping Data Inventory.
