Manitoba Regional Health Authorities
RHAs/Health Regions are geographic areas which are used to define populations and catchment areas for the administration and delivery of health services. This file provides RHA boundaries for cartographic and analytical purposes.Within Manitoba there are five Regional Health Authorities (or "RHAs") responsible for the delivery of health services in five specific areas of the province described in the legislation as "health regions." (In practice, the terms "health region" and "RHA" are often used interchangeably to describe these geographic areas.). This file contains boundaries for the health regions for each Regional Health Authority in Manitoba. Fields included (Alias (Field Name): Field description.) RHA Code (RHACODE): Two-digit numeric code which uniquely identifies a specific legislatively defined RHA RHA Name (RHAName): This field contains a simple name for each RHA, suitable for use as a label, in English. Nom de l'office régionale de la santé (RHANomFr): This field contains a simple name for each RHA, suitable for use as a label, in French. RHA Area - total (sq km) (RHAArea): The calculated geodesic area, in square kilometres, of the area within a given RHA's boundaries. RHA Area - excludes major lakes (sq km) (LandArea): The calculated geodesic area, in square kilometres, of the area within a given RHA's boundaries, with the area of major lakes excluded. For population density calculations, we recommend the use of this area value. The following major lakes have been excluded: Lake Winnipeg, Lake Manitoba, Lake Winnipegosis, and Cedar Lake.
Winnipegosis Isopach
These structure, isopach and zero edge files are part of a series of stratigraphic framework maps for the Saskatchewan Phanerozoic Fluids and Petroleum Systems (SPFPS) project. The series of stratigraphic framework maps for the Saskatchewan Phanerozoic Fluids and Petroleum Systems (SPFPS) project have been produced using 2 km equi-spaced modified grids generated from Golden Software’s Surfer 9 kriging algorithm. The dataset used to produce each of the maps in this series was created using data from several projects completed by the Ministry (Christopher, 2003; Saskatchewan Industry and Resources et al., 2004; Kreis et al., 2004; Marsh and Heinemann, 2006; Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources et al., 2007; Heinemann and Marsh, 2009); these data were validated and edited as required to facilitate correlations between the various regional projects. In addition, to minimize edge effects during contouring, the senior author also generated stratigraphic data from wells in adjacent jurisdictions.

Manitoba Geographical Names
This dataset provides a geographical location (in decimal degrees to the nearest second) for all officially named geographical features within the Province of Manitoba. The purpose of this dataset is to provide a geographical location (in decimal degrees to the nearest second) for all officially named geographical features within the Province of Manitoba, as per the Manitoba Geographical Names Program. The program’s mission is to: “embrace the active preservation of the province’s culture through its toponymy, and provides a naming authority for the enhancement, maintenance, dissemination, and protection of Manitoba’s geographical nomenclature recognizing the integral role geographical names play in our daily lives including their essential value to our scientific, commercial, and economic world.” As part of the program, staff administer and maintain all nomenclature records, an automated names information system, a resource library and archives, supplementary name location maps, a bibliography of name studies, and a commemorative names project. The Manitoba’s Geographical Names database contains more than 24, 000 official and heritage place names found throughout Manitoba. For each place name, the data set contains geographic coordinates, the type of feature, the name’s approval data, its location reference, plus any heritage information recorded about the name. Lithogeochemistry Athabasca
This dataset represents lithogeochemistry of Saskatchewan samples. This dataset represents lithogeochemistry of Saskatchewan samples. This dataset represents the exhaustive mapping and sampling program of the Athabasca Group between 1975 and 1981 by the Saskatchewan Geological Survey (SGS), the results of which are contained in Ramaekers (1990). These samples are now stored at the Ministry of Energy and Resources, Subsurface Geological Laboratory in Regina, Saskatchewan. A selection of these samples was chosen to help characterize the background geochemical signature of the Athabasca Group and to identify anomalous regions. A total of 837 samples were chosen. All samples in this data set were processed at the Geoanalytical Laboratories at the Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, an ISO/IEC 17025:2005 certified facility (i.e., meets the General Requirements for the Competence of Mineral Testing and Calibration Laboratories). Samples were crushed, split, agate ground, and then run with Sandstone Exploration Package ICPMS 1. The package produces three separate analysis types: inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy (ICP MS) partial digestion for trace elements; ICP MS total digestion for trace elements; and ICP–Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP–OES) total digestion for major and minor elements. Details and detection limits are available on the SRC’s website. ICP total digestion: a 0.250 g pulp is gently heated in a mixture of ultrapure HF/HNO3/HClO4until dry and the residue dissolved in dilute ultrapure HNO3; ICP MS total digestion: a 0.250 g pulp is gently heated in a mixture of ultrapure HF/HNO3/HClO4until dry and the residue dissolved in dilute ultrapure HNO3; ICP MS partial digestion: a 2.00 g pulp is digested with 2.25 ml of 8:1 ultrapure HNO3:HCl for 1 hour at 95° C; Detection limits are from the SRC's 2011 Analytical Fee Schedule; null values indicate that elements are below the detection limit. NOTE: Attribute data headings ending with TD indicate Total Digestion, those ending with PD indicate Partial Digestion. Majors oxides are in percent; all other elements are in ppm. **Please Note – All published Saskatchewan Geological Survey datasets, including those available through the Saskatchewan Mining and Petroleum GeoAtlas, are sourced from the Enterprise GIS Data Warehouse. They are therefore identical and share the same refresh schedule.
Community Areas
Community Areas are a standard analytical and service delivery geography for the city of Winnipeg and the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.Community Areas are a standard analytical and service delivery geography for the city of Winnipeg and the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. The Community Areas geographic areas were developed by the Community Data Network (now more commonly referred to as the Winnipeg Community Data Consortium), with input from the WRHA, Manitoba Health, the City of Winnipeg, and other stakeholders. Community areas can be defined to either include or exclude the municipalities of East and West St. Paul. Because the Winnipeg RHA is defined to include East and West St. Paul, use of the geographies in a health services or health status context includes East and West St. Paul. Conversely, because the City of Winnipeg excludes East and West St. Paul, use of the geographies in a municipal administrative context excludes East and West St. Paul. This shapefile reflects the use of Community Areas in a health services or health status context, and includes East and West St. Paul.
Manitoba Provincial Waterways Polygons
This polygon dataset was created to provide a record of the designated Provincial Waterways in Manitoba. This database contains lines and polygons showing the locations of provincial waterways, such as drains, diversions, detention basins, floodways, dams and reservoirs. This dataset was created by digitizing high-resolution imagery of the water features and by digitizing the titled Water Control Work plans associated with the features for drains which have been designated as provincial waterways by Order-in-Council.This dataset was created to provide a record of the designated Provincial Waterways in Manitoba and was intended for use in administering Provincial Waterways Authorizations. Provincial Waterways are designated by Order-in-Council and are under the administration and control of Manitoba Infrastructure (MI) through the Water Resource Administration Act.
