FADM - Pulpwood Agreement
The spatial representation for a Pulpwood Agreement, which is a 25 year term agreement, replaceable every ten years, that allows the holder of a wood-fibre processing facility to harvest Crown pulp timber if sufficient quantities of raw material are not available to the holder from other sources. Covers a large area in one or more Timber Supply Areas or TFLs.
FADM - Timber Supply Areas (TSA) - View
The spatial representation for current Timber Supply Areas (TSA). A Timber Supply Area is a designated area established by the Ministry in order to practice sound, integrated, resource management principles to improve the allowable annual cuts. TSAs were originally defined by an established pattern of wood flow from management units to the primary timber-using industries. They are the primary unit for allowable annual cut (AAC) determination.
Asian Longhorned Beetle Regulated Areas
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) established a regulated area as part of its efforts to eradicate the Asian longhorned beetle (ALHB). With the regulation of this area, there are restrictions on the movement of nursery stock, trees, logs, lumber, wood, wood chips and bark chips from certain deciduous trees identified as hosts of the ALHB and firewood of all species. These restrictions are necessary to prevent the spread of the ALHB. This protects Canada's environment and forest resources, and also helps keep international markets open to the forest industry and nurseries in non-regulated parts of Ontario and in the rest of Canada.
Forest Tenure Cutblock Polygons (FTA 4.0)
This is a spatial layer that reflects operational activities for cutblocks contained within harvesting authorities. The Forest Tenures Section (FTS) is responsible for the creation and maintenance of digital Forest Atlas files for the province of British Columbia encompassing Forest and Range Act Tenures. It also supports the forest resources programs delivered by MoFR. Each feature contains a Ministry of Forests and Range (MoFR) FEATURE_CLASS_SKEY (number) column that further defines the type of that feature. The layer contains cutblock boundaries for the following feature classes: Forest Licence Cut Block (555), Licence to Cut Cut Block (616), Timber Licence Cut Block (810), Timber Sale Licence Major Cut Block (817), Timber Sale Licence Minor CB Non Replaceable (820), Tree Farm Licence Cut Block (833), Wood Lot Licence Cut Block (863), Community Forest Cut Block (2402), and Timber Sale Licence Minor CB Replaceable (2417). Each cut block has a life cycle status that is either PENDING - the cut block has been submitted as a new cut block or an amendment, but is not yet approved or rejected, ACTIVE - the cut block is approved and activities may be taking place on the cut block, or RETIRED - all activities, with respect to the harvesting authority, have been completed for the cut block

National Network of Short Rotation Woody Crop Research, Development and Demonstration Sites
This data depicts the locations of Short Rotation Woody Crop (SRWC) research, development and demonstration sites established across Canada by the Canadian Wood Fibre Centre, its partners and/or private land owners.Short Rotation Woody Crops represent enormous potential with respect to future sources of bioenergy and/or sinks for carbon. Since 2002, the Silviculture Innovation Group of the Canadian Wood Fibre Centre has established over 1 000 hectares of "high yield afforestation", “mixedwood afforestation” and "concentrated woody biomass" SRWC systems across Canada.The refinement of the biological and operational components of these systems is ongoing to improve production efficiencies, reduce costs, and enhance site sustainability. Development, assessment and validation of value-chain options for the establishment, recovery, transportation, handling and conditioning phases of these short rotation woody feedstock systems is also being performed. The refinement and demonstration of operational logistics along with the identification of supply and value-chain options will promote the concept of SRWC from basic research and development to the point of commercial uptake.
