ORV Trail plans - 50k
Off Road Vehicle (ORV) Trail Plan show the trails (whether individually or by zone) within the off-road vehicle management area or the part of the off-road vehicle management area for which a trail plan is developed, on which an off-road vehicle may be used. A red, yellow, green scheme is used to symbolize the level of restriction on the trail plan. Red: off road vehicles are prohibited; Yellow: off road vehicles are prohibited except where designated by an approved Off Road Management Area Trail Plan; Green: off road vehicles are not prohibitedDistributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Forest genetics zone
This spatial data identifies breeding zones used by forest managers and forest genetic associations to manage provincial forest genetic assets. The data: * shows the boundaries of breeding zones * identifies the primary or target species within each zone Species are associated with certain breeding programs, seed orchards and progeny (descendant) testing installations.
Evaluation of Methods for Identification of Early Detection Monitoring Sites Based on Habitat Suitability for Invasive European Green Crab in the Salish Sea, British Columbia
The European Green Crab (EGC) is a high-risk global invader that can devastate coastal marine ecosystems by displacing native species, degrading and disturbing native habitats (including eelgrass), and altering food webs. EGC has recently been detected in the Canadian portion of the Salish Sea. As EGC continue to establish in the region, identifying locations on which to focus limited monitoring resources is an ongoing problem given the vast amount of coastal habitat that could be occupied by the species. A variety of methods can be used to identify highly suitable habitats for EGC at a range of spatial scales. However, none have been evaluated in the context of informing EGC management, nor for the Canadian portion of the Salish Sea. Here we evaluate five individual methods developed to assess habitat suitability for EGC (i.e., MaxEnt, stochastic gradient boosted linear and logistic regression models, a rapid site selection tool, and a qualitative site assessment and ranking tool) and five derived models generated by multiplying the outputs of these individual models. Each model relied on slightly different environmental and habitat input variables affecting EGC invasion success. Thus, rather than identifying a single preferred model, we used a multi-model ensemble approach to identify sites that are expected to be most suitable for the species. The ensemble approach likely increases predictive power by including both environmental and habitat characteristics when identifying priority sites for early detection/monitoring for EGC in the Canadian waters of the Salish Sea. Finally, we describe how the models evaluated here, alone or in combination, could be used to identify additional sites either within the Salish Sea or into new areas. This dataset contains predicted habitat suitability from five models for European Green Crab at beaches in the Salish Sea (British Columbia, Pacific Region).
Special Conservation Areas
This boundary layer shows all Special Conservation Areas (SCA) in Manitoba. The purpose of this dataset is to show the boundaries of all Special Conservation Areas (SCA) in Manitoba, as designated by the Designation of Wildlife Lands Regulation (171/2001) under The Wildlife Act (C.C.S.M. c. W130). Special Conservation Areas are designated to conserve and protect particular species and habitats throughout Manitoba. The Use of Wildlife Lands Regulation (77/99) determines what activities are prohibited within each Special Conservation Area. Boundaries are drawn based on CAD files from the official Director of Surveys Plan stated in the regulation.Fields included (Alias (Field Name): Field description.)FID (FID): Sequential unique whole numbers that are automatically generatedName (NAME): Special Conservation Area nameD of S Plan (DofS): Director of Surveys plan numberArea_HA (AREA_HA): Area in HectaresSpecies (SPECIES): Species name
Polar Bear - Wildlife Key Area - 250k
Wildlife Key Areas (WKA) are locations used by wildlife for critical, seasonal life functions. WKAs are identified by interpreting observed locations of wildlife at key times of year, not through intensive habitat assessment. Polygons derived from interviews with locals and from GIS interpretation of wildlife/habitat surveys. GIS interpretation follows criteria specific for taxon and/or populations of taxon. Key Areas are based on observed locations of wildlife at key times of year, not on habitat assessment. With new information, boundaries and designations of Key Areas can change and additional Key Areas can be identified. Furthermore, Key Areas are not the only sites important for wildlife. Other information sources can identify other sites important for wildlife for reasons outside the scope of the WKA Inventory Program. Updates to Key Areas occur only periodically. For the most current information, please consult with the Regional Biologist for your area of interest. If you have questions or would like to contribute to the WKA database, please contact the WKA Inventory Program ( [wka@yukon.ca](mailto:wka@yukon.ca) ).Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://mapservices.gov.yk.ca/GeoYukon/) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/) . Perimeters of the Lac-Mégantic train accident July 6, 2013
On July 6, a train of 72 cars, carrying 100 tons of crude oil each, exploded in Lac-Mégantic. The fire is now out. Several buildings in the city center were destroyed. Some forty buildings would be affected, including residences and businesses. The yellow perimeter (still active) corresponds to the controlled access zone. The red perimeter (inactive) corresponded to the area restricted to emergency responders. The green perimeter (inactive) was the reintegration zone. Purpose: To identify in the field the various perimeters related to ongoing operations.**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).**
Ontario Fishing Divisions before January 2008
Prior to January 1, 2008, fishing divisions were administrative units to manage, monitor, assess and regulate recreational fisheries. Each zone was based on angler usage and ecological/geographic patterns. Refer to [Fisheries Management Zone for boundaries after 2008](/dataset/fisheries-management-zone).

Waste Management Attenuation Zone
A "contaminant attenuation zone" is a three-dimensional zone that is, * located on land adjacent to a landfilling site, * in the subservice or extends into the subsurface, and * is used or is intended to be used for the attenuation of contaminants from the landfilling site to levels that will not have an unacceptable impact beyond the boundary of the zone. This product requires the use of geographic information system (GIS) software.
Green/White Area
The Green/White Area dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent the Green and White areas in the province of Alberta for the Department of Alberta Environment and Protected Areas administrative purpose.
