Macroalgae in the coastal zone of maritime Quebec
Macroalgae dominated areas with a vegetated cover above 25%, located in the coastal zone of the Estuary and the Gulf of St. Lawrence (Quebec)This dataset was designed for Environment and Climate Change Canada's (ECCC) National Environmental Emergencies Center (NEEC) for oil spill preparedness and response. The polygons of this layer were selected from the surface geodatabase of coastal ecosystems from the UQAR-MPO project Mapping coastal ecosystems of the Estuary and Gulf of St. Lawrence. Are represented in this dataset exclusively the polygons whose plant dominance corresponds to a class of macroalgae and presenting a semi-vegetated (25-75%) or vegetated (75-100%) cover. The study area includes all of the estuarine and maritime coasts of Quebec, with the exception of certain sectors, including most of the Lower North Shore and Anticosti Island, with the exception of villages of Kegaska, la Romaine, Chevery, Blanc-Sablon and Port-Menier. Some islands off the estuary and gulf coasts are part of the region covered, such as Île d'Orléans, Isle-aux-Coudres, Île Verte and Île Bonaventure.The mapping of coastal ecosystems was carried out jointly by the Laboratory for Dynamics and Integrated Coastal Zone Management (LDGIZC) of the University of Quebec at Rimouski as part of the Coastal Resilience Project (https: //ldgizc.uqar.ca/Web/projets/projet-resilience-cotiere) funded by the MELCC; and by the Fisheries and Oceans Canada team, as part of its Integrated marine response planning (IMRP) component of the Oceans Protection Plan (OPP),with the objective of updating the Marine Oil Spill Preparedness and Response Regime of Canada. The master geodatabase of coastal ecosystems is hosted and distributed by UQAR on their SIGEC-Web mapping platform: https://ldgizc.uqar.ca/Web/sigecwebThe macroalgae characterization was mainly carried out from the photo-interpretation of RGBI aerial photos acquired by the DFO (2015-2022) and oblique helicopter photos acquired by UQAR in 2017. Saskatchewan COVID-19 Zones
Boundaries for reporting cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan. Areas, zones and subzones show the different geographies available; these boundaries are based on statistics Canada source geometry when possible.On August 4th 2020, the province announced it would change the method of reporting COVID-19 cases, moving from six regions based on former Regional Health Authorities to thirteen zones based on Saskatchewan Health Authority geographies. The COVID-19 Zones are made by aggregating the COVID-19 Subzones, which are based on the SHA Health Networks or aggregations thereof. The COVID-19 Areas are an aggregation of the COVID-19 Zones. Areas, zones and subzones show the different geographies available; these boundaries are based on statistics Canada source geometry when possible.

Game Hunting Areas are used to support boundaries for species specific hunting seasons, harvest allocations, bag limits, and associated regulations. Wildlife Management Zones
The Wildlife Management Zone polygons are a representation of the zones as described in legislation. They are used for the management of wildlife in Saskatchewan.Wildlife Management Zones (WMZ) are used for the management of wildlife, mainly game species, in the Province of Saskatchewan. Hunting activities are governed and wildlife populations (inventories) are monitored using these zones. These assigned zone boundaries help address the wildlife management issues of the day and are subject to change as wildlife populations and management practices evolve. The last revision to the WMZ boundaries was March 27, 2014. This revision moves some boundaries to readily identifiable landmarks such as numbered highways, municipal roads or water bodies for ease of public use. Descriptions are written in a manner that better allows boundaries to follow highway or provincial forest boundary updates without ammending the regulation. These boundaries are described legally in the Wildlife Management Zones and Special Areas Boundaries Regulations, 1990 (shortened to WMZSABR for dataset naming). These regulations are in force under The Wildlife Act, 1998. Copies of these documents can be found at www.qp.gov.sk.ca. This spatial feature class is the polygon representation of the zones as described in the regulation. Although these digitized boundaries are intended to be as accurate as possible, the regulations supersede this data should discrepancies occur. The polygons you see here are constructed from the lines contained in the WMZ framework feature class, which is a clause by clause representation of the legal regulation. Regulation changes to the zones, when they occur, should be digitized in the framework first, and then constructed into polygons for this feature class. This maintains consistency, accuracy and serves as a quality control process for these legally designated areas.
