Well capture zones are intended to identify potential areas of risk to aquifers where the release of contaminants could affect the water quality of community wells. The information was compiled as a discreet project under the 'Yukon Water Strategy' and represents a 'snapshot in time' of the Drinking Water Systems. The Fibre Recovery Zones (FRZ) define areas where increased waste rates may apply to avoidable waste left on a cutting authority as detailed in the Provincial Logging Residue and Waste Measurement Procedure Manual. The boundaries have been approved by the Director of the Forest Tenures Branch, Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development. Current extent of the data is for the Coast Fibre Recovery Zones only.

This dataset is provided by the Ministry of Affordability and Utilities, Electricity Sustainability and Innovation Branch, and identifies the high-quality agricultural lands, buffer zones, and visual impact assessment zones in Alberta designated under the Electric Energy Land Use and Visual Assessment Regulation (EELUVAR) made under the Alberta Utilities Commission Act. These areas apply to applications for the construction or operation of power plants under Alberta Utilities Commission Rule 007, unless exempted under the regulation. Restrictions on development of high-quality agricultural land are limited to privately owned land as per the regulation. This data product includes the following datasets: Land Suitability Rating System (LSRS) Class 2 and Class 3H Lands, Visual Impact Assessment Zones, and Buffer Zones. Visual Impact Assessment Zones and Buffer Zones contain both private and public lands.

Ontario is divided into 4 Bait Management Zones (BMZs) that regulate the movement, possession and use of baitfish and leeches: * Southern BMZ * Central BMZ * Northeastern BMZ * Northwestern BMZ In portions of the far north, using or possessing live baitfish is prohibited, but these areas are not considered BMZs. A drinking water system is any domestic system servicing anything other than a single-family dwelling, as defined in the Drinking Water Protection Act. Zone of protection is a broad term that represents a wide variety of areas as they have been delineated in their corresponding report. The methods and processes used to delineate these zones vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, population, vulnerability, hydrologic/hydrogeologic parameters, etc. For the use of this dataset, the term Protection Zone means that protection measures should be considered and/or implemented in these areas due to the importance of these areas supplying drinking water to their water system users. Protection Zone does not mean that protection measures have been implemented in these areas, nor that protection measures are not required beyond the boundary of these areas. This is one of three Drinking Water Sources datasets (along with the DWS - Intakes/Wellheads points dataset, and DWS - Source Areas polygons dataset). Note: these polygons have unique Protection Zone IDs used to relate them to the Intakes/Wellhead points.

Yukon Bioclimate Zones and Subzones Version 1.0 is derived from a 30 m Digital Elevation Model (DEM) and a set of "rule-polygons". Each rule-polygon contains attributes that define upper and lower elevation limits of the bioclimate zone/subzone(s) that occur within the rule-polygon. Rule-polygon attributes and extent is defined by field data, expert observation and/or available imagery. Where available, rule-polygons were derived from plot data representative of climate (i.e. reference site). Yukon Bioclimate Zones and Subzones Version 1.0 may be used at scales larger than 1:250,000 with caution. This mapping is deliberately extended across the ocean, lakes, glaciers, etc to facilitate intersection with a terrestrial landcover layer of the user's choice. A map legend and map for this version is published in Southern Lakes Boreal Low Subzone (BOLsl): A Field Guide to Ecosite (Environment Yukon 2017). The Yukon Bioclimate Classification and Mapping project is ongoing, and subject to periodic updates or revisions. Because of this, the onus is on the end-user to ensure that they are using the most current version of the data. Although every effort has been made to ensure the correctness of the report and spatial products, there still may be errors. The Green/White Area dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent the Green and White areas in the province of Alberta for the Department of Alberta Environment and Protected Areas administrative purpose.

Part of the Nova Scotia Topographic Database (NSTDB), the designated areas theme layer is updated and maintained from aerial photography and field inspection. These areas include of parking lots, pits, campgrounds, sport fields, cemeteries, and numerous other features normally consistent with topographic mapping.
