The Rangeland Management Zones dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent the Rangeland Management Zones in Alberta. A Rangeland Management Zone is an administrative area designated by the Lands Division in which grazing and other agricultural uses related to public land are managed by regional branch offices. The boundaries are used to ensure referrals are sent to the correct locations. The Rangeland Management Zones was formerly known as Alberta Sustainable Resource Development Rangeland Management Districts.

This layer shows surveyed parcels that fall under the Agricultural Development Area Regulations or are within an agricultural zone as defined in one of the Development Area Regulations ( [Find zoning maps for Yukon communities \| Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/en/find-zoning-maps-yukon-communities) ). The field "Title Description" indicates if the parcels is titled to private, a government entity (commissioner, community or federal) or untitled. These files from Statistics Canada present Census of Agriculture data allocated by standard census geographic polygons: Provinces and Territories (PR), Census Agricultural Regions (CAR), Census Divisions (CD) and Census Consolidated Subdivisions (CCS). Five datasets are provided:1. Agricultural operation characteristics: includes information on farm type, operating arrangements, paid agricultural work and financial characteristics of the agricultural operation.2. Land tenure and management practices: includes information on land use, land tenure, agricultural practices, land inputs, technologies used on the operation and the renewable energy production on the operation.3. Crops: includes information on hay and field crops, vegetables (excluding greenhouse vegetables), fruits, berries, nuts, greenhouse productions and other crops.4. Livestock, poultry and bees: includes information on livestock, poultry and bees.5. The Prairie Soil Zones file shows the general distribution of major soil zones across the Prairie region of Canada. Soil zones (based on the Canadian System of Soil Classification) are named based on the dominant soil classification of the soils in each zone. Data extent is limited to the Agricultural Zone as defined in Soil Landscapes of Canada v 3.0 (Lefebvre et al. 2005).

The Grazing Rental Zones is comprised of two polygons which determine which zone a grazing disposition (GRL, FGL, GRP) is in. These zones are used to apply the rental rate that grazing leases (GRL), grazing licenses (FGL) and grazing permits (GRP) pay to the government of Alberta for use of public lands. The Public Lands Modernization (Grazing Lease and Obsolete Provisions) Amendment Act came into force January 1, 2020. Under the new rental rate framework (Ministerial Order 01/2020), there are now two grazing rental rate zones based on the transition of the boreal region of the province. The North Saskatchewan River is the dividing line between the south (Zone 1) and north (Zone 2).

Undertaken several years ago, cadastral renovation now covers a large part of agricultural land. The impact on the Commission's operations is growing, as is for all stakeholders in the field of land management.In order to improve its services, the Commission, in collaboration with the MRCs, has undertaken a project to transpose the boundaries of the agricultural zone to the Quebec Cadastre. The exercise consists essentially in establishing the correspondence between the base of the agricultural zone, i.e. the cadastral compilation at 1:20,000, and the renovated cadastre. The project is not an opportunity to review the boundaries of the agricultural zone on merit.This digital version illustrates to the best of our knowledge the agricultural zone with reference to the Cadastre of Quebec.
