250K Faults
This dataset shows 1:250,000 scale faults/lineaments of the Precambrian Shield area of Saskatchewan. This dataset shows the 1:250,000 scale bedrock geology faults/lineaments of the Precambrian Shield area of Saskatchewan. The faults/lineaments layer has been merged from the 1:250,000 scale Compilation Bedrock Geology map series. **Please Note – All published Saskatchewan Geological Survey datasets, including those available through the Saskatchewan Mining and Petroleum GeoAtlas, are sourced from the Enterprise GIS Data Warehouse. They are therefore identical and share the same refresh schedule.
250K Bedrock Geology
This dataset is the bedrock geology layer of the Precambrian shield area of the Province of Saskatchewan merged from 1:250,000 scale compilation map series. This dataset shows 1:250 000 scale bedrock geology of the Precambrian Shield area of the Province of Saskatchewan. Mapping in support of the dataset includes many years of field observations which were compiled at 1:250 000 scale and integrated into this dataset. The data was created as a file geodatabase feature class and output for public distribution. **Please Note – All published Saskatchewan Geological Survey datasets, including those available through the Saskatchewan Mining and Petroleum GeoAtlas, are sourced from the Enterprise GIS Data Warehouse. Geology of the Precambrian Shield in northeastern Alberta, NTS 74M and NTS 74L (GIS data, polygon overlay features)
This GIS dataset comprises the metamorphic overlay features of Map 180, Geology of the Precambrian Shield in northeastern Alberta, NTS 74M and NTS 74L, published by the Alberta Geological Survey (polygon features). The data are created in ArcInfo and output for public distribution in shapefile format.
Geology of the Precambrian Shield in northeastern Alberta, NTS 74M and NTS 74L (GIS data, line features)
This GIS dataset comprises the linear geological features of Map 180, Geology of the Precambrian Shield in northeastern Alberta, NTS 74M and NTS 74L, published by the Alberta Geological Survey. The data are created in ArcInfo and output for public distribution in shapefile format.
Geology of the Precambrian Shield in northeastern Alberta, NTS 74M and NTS 74L -bedrock polygons (GIS data, polygon features)
This GIS dataset comprises the geological polygon features of Map 180, Geology of the Precambrian Shield in northeastern Alberta, NTS 74M and NTS 74L, published by the Alberta Geological Survey (polygon features). The data are created in ArcInfo and output for public distribution in shapefile format.
Geology of the Precambrian Shield in northeastern Alberta, NTS 74M and NTS 74L - structural measurements (GIS data, point features)
This GIS dataset comprises the structural measurement features of Map 180, Geology of the Precambrian Shield in northeastern Alberta, NTS 74M and NTS 74L, published by the Alberta Geological Survey. The measurements are of general foliation and gneissosity in the bedrock. The data are created in ArcInfo and output for public distribution in shapefile format.
Geology of the Precambrian Shield in northeastern Alberta, NTS 74M and NTS 74L - bedrock contacts (GIS data, line features)
This GIS dataset comprises the bedrock contacts (polygon outline features) of Map 180, Geology of the Precambrian Shield in northeastern Alberta, NTS 74M and NTS 74L, published by the Alberta Geological Survey. The data are created in ArcInfo and output for public distribution in shapefile format.
Metamorphic Facies
This map depicts the metamorphic facies for the Province of Saskatchewan, Canada. This map depicts the metamorphic facies for the province of Saskatchewan. The Precambrian Shield of Northern Saskatchewan has a complex metamorphic history with as many as six distinct thermotectonic events affecting various regions. Several of these result from major periods of crustal thickening attributed to orogenies, whereas others represent separate pulses of unknown origin. As might be expected, it is the most recent of these that are the most extensively preserves and that can be documented most reliably. More information can be found in GSC Open File 5443 Metamorphic map of Northern Saskatchewan, scale 1:1 000 000. **Please Note – All published Saskatchewan Geological Survey datasets, including those available through the Saskatchewan Mining and Petroleum GeoAtlas, are sourced from the Enterprise GIS Data Warehouse. Terrestrial Ecoprovinces of Canada
The “Terrestrial Ecoprovinces of Canada” dataset provides representations of ecoprovinces. An ecoprovince is a subdivision of an ecozone and is characterized by major assemblages of structural or surface forms, faunal realms, and vegetation, hydrology, soil, and macro climate. For example, the Newfoundland ecoprovince (no. 6.4) is one of six ecoprovinces within the Boreal Shield Ecozone
Metallic Mineral Occurrences of the Exposed Precambrian Shield in Northeastern Alberta, NTS 74E, L, M (GIS data, point features)
Alberta Geological Survey Bulletin 64 documents 190 metallic mineral occurrences. We have digitized these occurrences into GIS format as a point shapefile. The description of these 190 metallic mineral occurrences on the exposed Precambrian Shield of northeast Alberta provides models for mineral deposition, establishes exploration targets and gives insights into the economic potential of the mineral showings. Commodities include gold, uranium, base metals and rare-earth elements. Among these occurrences, we have investigated 20 of them sufficiently, and they are of sufficient exploration importance to be classified as a mineral showing.
