Planning Cadastre
PLC - Cadastral and land planning (planningCadastre)Land use. For example, resources describing zoning maps, cadastral surveys, and land ownership.
Local and Regional Greenspaces
This dataset contains spatial and attribute information for local and regional greenspaces in British Columbia. Local and regional greenspaces are municipal or regional district lands designated by local government agencies and managed for public enjoyment, ecosystem or wildlife values. Spatial boundaries were sourced from municipal and regional district web sites, which in some cases provide datasets under Open Government Licence, and in other cases, publicize parks and greenspaces on web maps or pdf maps. Boundaries were edge-matched to the ParcelMap BC cadastre. This spatial layer contains multipart polygons.
Agricultural zone transposed to the Quebec Cadastre
Undertaken several years ago, cadastral renovation now covers a large part of agricultural land. The impact on the Commission's operations is growing, as is for all stakeholders in the field of land management. In order to improve its services, the Commission, in collaboration with the MRCs, has undertaken a project to transpose the boundaries of the agricultural zone to the Quebec Cadastre. The exercise consists essentially in establishing the correspondence between the base of the agricultural zone, i.e. the cadastral compilation at 1:20,000, and the renovated cadastre. The project is not an opportunity to review the boundaries of the agricultural zone on merit. This digital version illustrates to the best of our knowledge the agricultural zone with reference to the Cadastre of Quebec. Although 1:20,000 plans remain the official source for now, the transposed limit is integrated into our geomatic systems and used in the course of our operations.**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).**
Ministry of Transportation (MOT) Culverts
A Culvert is a pipe (less than 3m in diameter) or half-round flume used to transport or drain water under or away from the road and/or right of way. Culverts that are greater than or equal to 3m in diameter are stored in the MoT Bridge Structure Road Dataset. It is a Point feature
Land Cover - 250k - Canvec
Land Features entities are: Island, Shoreline, Wooded Area, Saturated soil, Landform Feature (esker, sand\...), and Cut Line. CanVec is a digital cartographic reference product of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). It originates from the best available data sources covering Canadian territory, offers quality topographical information in vector format, and complies with international geomatics standards. CanVec is a multi-source product coming mainly from the National Topographic Data Base (NTDB), the Mapping the North process conducted by the Canada Center for Mapping and Earth Observation (CCMEO), the Atlas of Canada data, the GeoBase initiative, and the data update using satellite imagery coverage (e.g. Landsat 7, Spot, Radarsat, etc.).Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Tree Type - Common Attribute Schema for Forest Resource Inventories
The Common Attribute Schema for Forest Resource Inventories (CASFRI) is a Canadian forest resource inventory data repository. Forest resource inventory datasets in CASFRI are harmonized to a common data model so that data collected by different agencies following different standards can be used together. Participating provincial, territorial and federal government departments and agencies share current and historical map-based forest resource inventory datasets through CASFRI so that their data are available to users who’s areas of interest span multiple jurisdictions. CASFRI was originally developed by academic researchers (Cumming et al., https://doi.org/10.1139/cjfr-2014-0102). This flavour of CASFRI (CASFRIv5) was developed anew in collaboration with academic researchers at the University of Laval to provide a government version of CASFRI that is findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable. It uses the most up-to-date forest inventory data provided by participating provincial, territorial, and federal government departments and agencies. CASFRIv5 is hosted on the Canadian Council of Forest Ministers’ data portal, the National Forest Information System (http://nfis.org).
Pan-Canadian predictive model of Carbonatite-hosted REE and Nb deposits
A predictive model for Canadian carbonatite-hosted REE ± Nb deposits is presented herein. This model was developed by integrating diverse data layers derived from geophysical, geochronological, and geological sources. These layers represent the key components of carbonatite-hosted REE ± Nb mineral systems, including the source, transport mechanisms, geological traps, and preservation processes. Deep learning algorithms were employed to integrate these layers into a comprehensive predictive framework. High resolution forest change for Canada (2012-2015) (Change Type)
The Forest Change Type data described here is an update to previously posted open data. The date range for this data is 2012 to 2015. The Forest Change Type data for the prior period from 1985 to 2011 can be found here: https://opendata.nfis.org/mapserver/nfis-change_eng.html or https://gcgeo.gc.ca/geonetwork/search/eng search for “Forest Change” but you must be logged in to see the data. It is developed within the framework of Canada’s National Terrestrial Ecosystem Monitoring System (NTEMS).The forest change data included in this product is national in scope (entire forested ecosystem) and represents the first wall-to-wall characterization of wildfire and harvest in Canada at a spatial resolution commensurate with human impacts. The information outcomes represent 25 years of stand replacing change in Canada’s forests, derived from a single, consistent spatially-explicit data source, derived in a fully automated manner. This demonstrated capacity to characterize forests at a resolution that captures human impacts is key to establishing a baseline for detailed monitoring of forested ecosystems from management and science perspectives. Time series of Landsat data were used to characterize national trends in stand replacing forest disturbances caused by wildfire and harvest for the period 1985–2010 for Canada's 650 million hectare forested ecosystems (https://authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S0034425717301360). Landsat data has a 30m spatial resolution, so the change information is highly detailed and is commensurate with that of human impacts. These data represent annual stand replacing forest changes. The stand replacing disturbances types labeled are wildfire and harvest, with lower confidence wildfire and harvest, also shared. The distinction and sharing of lower class membership likelihoods is to indicate to users that some change events were more difficult to allocate to a change type, but are generally found to be in the correct category. For an overview on the data, image processing, and time series change detection methods applied, as well as information on independent accuracy assessment of the data, see Hermosilla et al. (2016; http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/17538947.2016.1187673).The data available is, 1. a binary change/no-change; 2. Change year; and, 3. Change type. Vegetation Inventory - 40k
This feature delineates forest and vegetation stands in the Yukon at a scale of 1: 40 ,000. It is a management level forest inventory (as opposed to a n operational level) - meaning that analysis and mapping are most effective close to the 1:40,000 scale and not larger . This inventory has been completed in various stages : delineation from hardcopy black and white photographs took place from 1987 to 2002; while recent data collection has proceeded through a digital (aka 'softcopy') methodology of scanned photographs and digital elevation models.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) .
