Northern Goshawk Forage Habitat Suitability - Cariboo NR Region
This hexagonal polygon dataset identifies potential suitable foraging habitat for Northern Goshawk (NOGO) within the Cariboo Natural Resource Region.
Northern Goshawk Nesting Habitat Suitability - Cariboo NR Region
This hexagonal polygon dataset identifies potential suitable nesting habitat for Northern Goshawk (NOGO) within the Cariboo Natural Resource Region.
Productive Forest Landbase for the Cariboo Region
Productive forest land base is defined as the total Crown forest area, determined by subtracting the following from the total area of the Cariboo Natural Resource Region: * All non-Crown land * All Crown land committed to non-timber use through a Land Act designation * All non-forest Crown Land, and * All forest area classified as brush or non-commercial cover in the Forest Inventory. See the CCLUP Land Use Order Implementation Direction for more information: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/farming-natural-resources-and-industry/natural-resource-use/land-water-use/crown-land/land-use-plans-and-objectives/cariboo-region/cariboochilcotin-rlup/cclup_land_use_order_implementation_direction_companion.pdf
Seral Stage Assessment Amalgamation Units for the Cariboo Natural Resource Region
This dataset is a combination of landscape unit, biogeoclimatic zone/subzone/variants and Cariboo Chilcotin Land Use Plan (CCLUP) leading group type (PineGroup or FirGroup) used to roll up seral stage assessments in the Cariboo Natural Resource Region. Refer to the **Cariboo Regional Biodiversity Conservation Strategy Update Note #2: Amalgamation of Small NDT-BEC Units in Relation to Assessment of Seral Objectives and Old Growth Management Area Planning** and **Cariboo Regional Biodiversity Conservation Strategy Update Note #3: Definition of the Fir Group and Pine Group for Purposes of Seral Stage Assessments within NDT 4 of the Cariboo-Chilcotin** (see below under "Related Links") for more information on how seral stage assessment amalgamation units are derived.
Flammulated Owl Habitat Suitability - Cariboo NR Region
This polygon dataset identifies the habitat suitability rating for Flammulated Owl (FLOW) within the Cariboo Natural Resource Region. The habitat suitability rating is based on Biogeoclimatic Ecosystem Classification (BEC), forest age class, crown closure, tree species, harvest activity, silviculture activity, slope and aspect.
Patch Size Assessment Amalgamation Units for the Cariboo Natural Resource Region
This dataset is a combination of landscape unit, biogeoclimatic zone/subzone/variants and Cariboo Chilcotin Land Use Plan leading group type (PineGroup or FirGroup) that patch size assessments are carried out on. Refer to the **Cariboo Regional Biodiversity Conservation Strategy Update Note #4: An Approach for Patch Size Assessments in the Cariboo Forest Region** (see below under "Related Links") for more information on how patch size assessment amalgamation units are derived.
Timing Windows for Work in and About Waterbodies in the Cariboo Natural Resource Region
Timing windows are the period(s) during the year when work may be carried out in and about water bodies with the lowest risk to fish and wildlife species and habitat. Timing windows and terms and conditions vary based on regional differences in fish and wildlife species and habitat, and geography. The timing window of least risk to fish and fish habitat must be applied to all activities in water bodies, as well as tributaries that have a risk of depositing sediment into water bodies. Windows of least risk are designed to protect all fish species known to occur in a water body.
Seral Stage Assessment for the Cariboo Region
Seral stage assessment for the Cariboo Region to support the [Cariboo Chilcotin Land Use Plan (CCLUP)](https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/industry/crown-land-water/land-use-planning/regions/cariboo/cariboochilcotin-rlup). This assessment is based on [Vegetated Resource Information (VRI)](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/6ba30649-14cd-44ad-a11f-794feed39f40) data, and uses the CCLUP [Productive Forest Land Base](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/0cfa7f53-272d-47d4-83df-95b4edd75460) as the assessment landbase. Last updated 2026-02-06, based on 2024 VRI (Vegetation Resource Inventory) data. PDF reports for this and previous seral stage assessments are available for download under "Data and Resources" on the right side of this page. Previous seral stage assessment datasets are currently available via FTP download here: [ftp://ftp.geobc.gov.bc.ca/publish/Regional/WilliamsLake/forest/seral/](ftp://ftp.geobc.gov.bc.ca/publish/Regional/WilliamsLake/forest/seral/).
Natural Resource (NR) Regions
The spatial representation for a Natural Resource (NR) Region, that is an administrative area established by the Ministry, within NR Areas. These boundaries are designated by the Lieutenant Governor in council and published as regulations which establishes the Ministry's management areas. This dataset supersedes WHSE_ADMIN_BOUNDARIES.FADM_REGION
