Yukon Electoral Polling Divisions
Polling divisions divide electoral districts into smaller designated areas to organize and manage voting during an election. The boundaries in this dataset were drawn within the Official Electoral Districts of the Yukon, as defined by the "Electoral Districts Boundaries Act" (S.Y. 2024, c. 14), and were aligned using Natural Resource Canada’s CanVec Topographic Data at the 1: 50 000 scale, as well as the National Road Network (NRN), where applicable.This dataset is suitable for use in spatial analysis, planning, and geographic visualization at regional and municipal levels.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps). Electoral district boundaries are defined by the "Electoral Districts Boundaries Act" (S.Y. 2024, c. 14) and as amended.The linework was created by interpreting the 2008 Electoral District boundaries (amended in July 2015), and updating/modifying the boundaries to account for population growth and distribution, as of 2024. These boundaries were drawn and aligned using Natural Resource Canada’s CanVec Topographic Data at the 1: 50 000 scale, as well as the National Road Network (NRN), where applicable. Beluga whale summer herds distribution in the St. Lawrence Estuary
This layer represents the seasonal distribution of the St. Lawrence Estuary beluga whale population (Delphinapterus leucas). Three groups are represented: females with calf, adult males and mixed sectors. Herd distribution was defined using Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) published data about beluga whales (see references).Herd distribution areas are only valid during the summer, and the uses of these areas by the herds are unknown.Data source :Michaud, R. 1993. ####Leading Group for the Cariboo Region (pinegroup or firgroup). #### 1. IDF - Fir Group: includes all forest polygons in NDT 4 (IDF and BG biogeoclimatic zones) that meet any of the following criteria: *a) Douglas-fir ( Fd or Fdi) leading or ponderosa pine leading; *b) Lodgepole pine leading, and Douglas-fir ( Fd or Fdi) or ponderosa pine greater than 15% in any inventory layer; *c) Trembling aspen leading, and Douglas-fir ( Fd or Fdi) or Ponderosa pine greater than 15% in any inventory layer, and spruce, red-cedar, cottonwood and birch less than 6% in any inventory layer; *d) No species information in inventory data (usually NSR stands), and inventory type group for pre-harvest stand or the current stand = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 29, or 32 These inventory type groups correspond to the following species compositions F, FC, FCy, FH, FS, FPl, Fpy, FL, FDEcid, PlF and Py. If inventory type group=0 and pre-harvest inventory type is not available, classify the polygon as Pine Group. 2. IDF-Pl Group: includes all forest polygons in NDT 4 (IDF and BG biogeoclimatic zones) that do not meet the above definition for IDF-Fir Group.

General distribution of Humpback Whales in the Estuary and Gulf of St. Lawrence based on all identified whales from the entire MICS database (Mingan Island Cetacean Study).Additional informationThe MICS (Mingan Island Cetacean Study) has been collecting and compiling in a photo-identification catalogue, blue whale (and other type of whales) sightings for the western North Atlantic since 1979. Since 1987, the material and sampling protocol has been being relatively stable, neither random nor systematic. Field work is conducted abord inflatable boats. Because the whole Gulf ot St. Lawrence cannot be thoroughly studied, MCIS conducts surveys in known whale aggregation areas. The spatial effort is also weather dependent and is mainly constrained by wind direction and strength. Therefore, the study area is not homogeneously covered.Each whale observation is associated with a picture that allows individual identification based on the animal's pigmentation pattern.
