The Base Features Access Railway spatial layer is the authoritative source of railway data for the province of Alberta. It is a part of the Access data collection which also includes roads, powerlines, cutlines and trails, and industrial facilities.

A Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) Road Barrier is when access to a road segment or network is restricted or controlled. Road authorities in Ontario have the mandated responsibility to construct roads or have them constructed on their behalf. They include: * Ministry of Natural Resources (resource access roads and park roads) * Municipalities * Ministry of Transportation * Ministry of Northern Development and Mines * Federal government (roads on federal lands, e.g. national parks, Dept. of Defense) * First Nations * Other, e.g., local roads boards This product requires the use of geographic information system (GIS) software.

These lines represent routes within Motor Vehicle Prohibition Regulation Areas where motor vehicles are prohibited or restricted year round or seasonally. These lines were created as a visual representation of the Wildlife Act Motor Vehicle Prohibition Regulations. Under the Motor Vehicle Prohibition Regulation of the provincial Wildlife Act, motor vehicle use on crown land in B.C. may be prohibited or restricted. This data is a summary of the Motor Vehicle Prohibition Regulations, and is intended for general information purposes only. Where there is a discrepancy between these maps and the Regulations, the Motor Vehicle Prohibition Regulations are the final authority. Motor Vehicle Prohibitions (MVP) are put in place for a variety of reasons. MVPs can be used to: * protect habitat * reduce disturbance and displacement of wildlife * provide areas for hunters on foot, bike or horseback to hunt without motorized vehicles present * reduce hunter harvest while maintaining hunting opportunity   Motor vehicles include but are not limited to: * vehicles * ATVs/UTVs * snowmobiles * motorcycles * electric bikes   For full definitions and detailed regulations, visit the Motor Vehicle Prohibition Regulations website (available under Related Links). There are 2 types of motor vehicle restrictions under the Wildlife Act, and all types can be seasonal or year-round. 1. **Motor Vehicle Closed Area** (formerly referred to as Access Management Areas (AMAs): Prohibits the use or operation of a motor vehicle and e-bike. These prohibitions can be for all motor vehicles, or specific to ATVs/e-bikes or snowmobiles. 2. **Motor Vehicle Hunting Closed Area**: The operation of motor vehicles and e-bikes to hunt, transport wildlife, transport equipment and supplies which are intended for or in support of hunting, or transport hunters to and from the location of wildlife is prohibited. These prohibitions can apply to all motor vehicles, or be specific to ATVs/e-bikes or snowmobiles.

Transport Features is composed of, among others, the National Road Network (NRN) and the National Railway Network (NRWN). Transport Features entities are: Nautical Facility, Track Segment, Track Junction, Railway Station, Track Crossing, Track Marker Post, Track Structure, Rail Ferry, Road Segment, Road Ferry, Road Junction, Blocked Passage, Toll Point, Aerial Cableway, Footbridge, Trail, Navigational Aid, Marina, and Runway. CanVec is a digital cartographic reference product of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). It originates from the best available data sources covering Canadian territory, offers quality topographical information in vector format and complies with international geomatics standards. Roads captured at 1:1,000,000 scale from Digital Chart of the World data for the Yukon and surrounding area. These roads were compared to the Government of Canada's National Road Network (NRN) and Yukon Government's existing orthoimagery to determine the validity of each road. Forest resource roads (FRR) are actively used for accessing forest resources. FRRs are tracked and managed in a road management database. These roads do not represent a complete road network, they should be viewed in conjunction with the Roads -50k - Canvec dataset. Many FRRs are gated with controlled access. There are four categories of roads in the dataset: Forest Resource Roads (act); Forest Resource Access (non-act), Public Access (non-act) and auxiliary roads:- Forest resources road (Act): a road constructed, modified or maintained for the purpose of providing access for forest resources harvesting or management of forest resources that is authorized under subsection 32(1) of the Act, or a road designated as forest resources road under section 73 of the Regulation. These roads were constructed or designated after the Forest Resources Act and Regulation were enacted. - Forest resource access (non-Act): a road constructed, modified or maintained for the purpose of providing access for forest resources harvesting or management of forest resources that is considered a capital investment by the Government of Yukon, Department of Energy, Mines and Resources, Forest Management Branch. These roads were constructed prior to the enactment of the Forest Resources Act. - Public Access (non act): a pre-existing public road. In this road network all Public Access is part of the forest resource access network. - Auxiliary access: a variety of access types that do not conform to the above descriptions and may include: research forest trails, skid trails, heritage trails, trails that access forest resources.
