The Province is divided into nine administrative regions, having a total of 225 wildlife management units (WMU) for the purpose of efficient game management.

Wildlife Management Units are used for a number of wildlife management purposes, like indicating the areas of Ontario where hunting open seasons and harvest quotas apply. Wildlife Management Unit boundaries are regulated under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act - Ontario Regulation 663/98, Part 6 as amended.

AEP Parks Operations Division Management Area Boundaries
This dataset contains boundaries of Management Areas, which are geographic areas of managerial responsibility within Parks Operations Division, Alberta Environment and Protected Areas. Management Areas are groupings of Districts, which are geographic areas of operational responsibility within Parks Operations Division. Parks Operations Division Districts nest within Management Areas, which in turn nest within Regions. These boundaries are administrative/operational in nature, and are subject to change.

TA_MGMT_AREAS_SPATIAL_SVW contains the spatial representation (polygon) of the management area boundaries established pursuant to section 3 of the Muskwa-Kechika Management Area Act. The view was created to provide a simplified view of this data from the administrative boundaries information in the Tantalis operational system

Grizzly Bear Management Areas
The Grizzly Bear Management Areas encompass the Recovery (Core and Secondary Access Management Areas combined), Support, and Habitat Linkage Zones for each grizzly bear subpopulation. The Grizzly Bear Management Areas are the area where the Government of Alberta focuses efforts on grizzly bear recovery and management.
