The dataset was developed to provide geographic guide to better understand the boundaries of the Industrial Heartland - Designated Industrial Zone (IH-DIZ). The IH-DIZ industrial zoned land extends into 5 different municipalities, including: Approx. 533 km2 within the City of Fort Saskatchewan and the Counties of Lamont, Strathcona and Sturgeon. Approx. 49 km2 in the City of Edmonton, which is the industrial area known as the Edmonton Energy and Technology Park.

The amount of groundwater exploited is estimated in m³/year. Groundwater usages are classified in four categories: agricultural, industrial, domestic and energy. Typically, groundwater usage should be represented as a series of sub-polygons or points fitting inside the boundary of the hydrogeological unit. The scope and method used to estimate the amount of water are described in the metadata associated with the dataset. The dataset identifies the main usages for the hydrogeological unit. It features numbers and percentages describing groundwater usages for a predetermined scope. The groundwater usage is frequently compiled by municipalities or counties. It could then be possible to display the usage by superimposing a series of pie charts depicting the groundwater usages over multiples administrative areas.

The __Counties of British Columbia__ contains areas of land within the Province of British Columbia representing legally defined administrative areas described in the County Boundary Act. The purpose of this division is for the administration of justice. The counties were delineated using provincial base mapping features, following the metes and bounds descriptions in the Letters Patent. This dataset is provided by the Ministry of Utilities and Affordability, Rural Utilities Branch, and represents rural low-pressure pipelines (less than 700 kPa) and customer meters in Alberta that are under the jurisdiction of the Gas Distribution Act, including Gas Co-operatives, First Nations, Municipalities and Counties, Private Systems, Apex Utilities Inc., and ATCO Gas Inc. The data is based on the annual submissions of construction as-builts to Rural Utilities, Alberta Affordability and Utilities. The geodatabase contains linear pipeline data features and customer meter point features. The pipeline data features contain: Pipe material. Status. Year built, if known, and the name of the natural gas distributor and general contact information for inquiries and requests. The meter attributes include the type of meter and the contact information for each distributor. The Customer meters features contain: Meter Code. Meter Type. and the name of the natural gas distributor and general contact information for inquiries and requests.

The __shíshálh Nation__ contains legally defined areas of land within the Province of British Columbia over which the shíshálh Nation exercises self-government, including the administration of resources and services available to its members, as described in the shíshálh Nation Self-Government Act of 1986. This spatial layer contains multipart features. Note that the name of the spatial layer is outdated; after the notification of retirement of the layer has been circulated the dataset will be recreated with the correct name. The source data for the geometry of the parcels was the federal "GeoBase - Aboriginal Lands" dataset, available under OGL - Canada. Parcels were adjusted to match provincial base mapping features, following the metes and bounds descriptions in the Letters Patent. RHA Districts are geographic areas that are used to define populations and catchment areas for the administration and delivery of health services. This file provides RHA district boundaries for cartographic and analytical purposes.Within Manitoba there are five Regional Health Authorities (or "RHAs") responsible for the delivery of health service in five specific areas of the province described as "health regions". (In practice, the terms "health region" and "RHA" are used interchangeably to describe these geographic areas.) In consultation with Manitoba Health, Healthy Living and Seniors, and with the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy, each of the RHAs has defined further subdivisions within each RHA . These sub-areas of each RHA generally correspond to areas of clustered population and/or service delivery. They are used to plan service delivery, and are also used to describe and analyze population health and health service use with more specificity than analysis at the RHA level could provide. Due to the size and the total population of Manitoba's RHAs, there are two levels of subdivided RHA geography which are used for analytical and planning purposes. The smallest subdivisions used for this purpose are RHA Districts. RHA Districts within an RHA are also grouped into larger sub-areas with the RHA called RHA Zones, within each RHA District within an RHA included in precisely one of these zone. This shapefile contains the boundaries of Manitoba's RHA districts.

Features are Administrative Land Objects that represent the spatial extents of a jurisdiction that is created and managed as a separate entity within the ICM database. Un-derived Administrative Areas include QUADs, Groups, Subdivisions, Municipalities, Block Land Transfers, Settlement Areas, Districts and Regions. Un-derived Administrative Areas also include the spatial extent of site that do not have a specific administrative boundary such as Indian settlements and national historic sites. In the LYR files for CSW, the QUADs & Groups were removed with a Query Builder. This cadastral framework provides a parcel base of properly structured vector data designed and suited for Geographical Information System (GIS) application and can be used for land management purposes. This data set is not be used for defining boundaries.
