Counties of British Columbia - Legally Defined Administrative Areas of BC
The __Counties of British Columbia__ contains areas of land within the Province of British Columbia representing legally defined administrative areas described in the County Boundary Act. The purpose of this division is for the administration of justice. The counties were delineated using provincial base mapping features, following the metes and bounds descriptions in the Letters Patent. A polygon dataset that includes all of the administrative areas currently in the __Administrative Boundaries Management System (ABMS)__ is available [here](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/legally-defined-administrative-areas-of-bc). A complimentary point dataset that defines the administrative areas is also available [here](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/legally-defined-administrative-areas-of-bc-boundary-locations). The Legal document which divides the province of British Columbia into counties is available [here](http://www.bclaws.ca/civix/document/id/complete/statreg/96075_01). Livestock at Large Regulations in British Columbia
In British Columbia, there are over 100 Livestock Districts, Bull Control Areas and Pound Districts established by regulation under the Livestock Act. Livestock Districts, with minor exceptions, are areas where livestock may run at large within the district boundaries. Bull Control Areas are areas within Livestock District, in which Bull Control Committees may make rules respecting the number, breed, breeding, quality and age of bulls allowed to run at large. Pound Districts are areas where keepers, peace officers and others may impound animals at large, and allow for the sale of unclaimed impounded animals and the reimbursement of the keeper. The regulations are published in the British Columbia Gazette Part II. The current Index of Current B.C. Regulations provides a complete list. British Columbia Geoduck (Panopea generosa) Age, Size Structure and Growth Parameters, 1993 - 2002
Biological samples of Geoduck Clams have been collected during surveys in British Columbia as part of the broader survey objectives of determining Geoduck density, distribution and population structure. Samples of Geoducks were collected from 41 locations throughout British Columbia between 1993 and 2002. Clams were measured for total weight, shell length, shell weight and were aged. Biological parameters are presented here for individual clams sampled. See Bureau D., W. Hajas, N.W. Surry, C.M. Hand, G. Dovey and A. Campbell. 2002.
