Roads captured at 1:1,000,000 scale from Digital Chart of the World data for the Yukon and surrounding area. These roads were compared to the Government of Canada's National Road Network (NRN) and Yukon Government's existing orthoimagery to determine the validity of each road. Vegetative or non-vegetative objects alongside major roads and highways preventing passers by from seeing the surrounding landscape

The roads and linear features in this data set were compiled and interpreted in association with the Vegetation Inventory (1995-2006). It is a representation of various linear features on the land base. The linear features were classified by the interpreters based on the NTDB classification system for roads and trails, at that time. It originates from the best available data sources covering Canadian territory, offers quality topographical information in vector format and complies with international geomatics standards. These are sourced from the Ontario Road Network.

The Landmark Kilometre Inventory spatial layer is used primarily by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOT) to represent routes against which accident data and traffic counts are collected. This method describes roads by a four number designation referred to as a segment (i.e. 0375) This spatial layer was created based on Digital Road Atlas (DRA) centerline using linear referencing
