The Provincial Sanctuary - Corridor Wildlife dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent the Provincial Sanctuary - Corridor Wildlife areas in Alberta. Provincial Sanctuary - Corridor Wildlife is area designated for the protection of wildlife within 400 yards corridors of various road centre-lines.

Wildlife Key Areas (WKA) are locations used by wildlife for critical, seasonal life functions. WKAs are identified by interpreting observed locations of wildlife at key times of year, not through intensive habitat assessment. Polygons derived from interviews with locals and from GIS interpretation of wildlife/habitat surveys. GIS interpretation follows criteria specific for taxon and/or populations of taxon. Key Areas are based on observed locations of wildlife at key times of year, not on habitat assessment. With new information, boundaries and designations of Key Areas can change and additional Key Areas can be identified. Furthermore, Key Areas are not the only sites important for wildlife. Other information sources can identify other sites important for wildlife for reasons outside the scope of the WKA Inventory Program. Updates to Key Areas occur only periodically. The Elk Valley Area Based Management Plan (ABMP) - “Elk Valley Water Quality Plan” was developed according to Ministerial Order No. 113 to remediate water quality effects of past coal mining and to guide future development. The Elk Valley Water Quality Plan was developed by Teck with input from the public, First Nations, governments, technical experts and other stakeholders. The purpose of the Plan is to identify a strategy and implement solutions to address increasing selenium and nitrate water concentrations within the Valley, and assess and track levels of cadmium and sulphate in waters; while at the same time allowing for continued sustainable mining in the Valley. The Plan also lays out a strategy to address calcite formation associated with historical and current mining activity. The Plan was submitted to the British Columbia Minister of Environment for approval on July 22, 2014. The ministry amended the Elk Valley ABMP in 2025. These structure, isopach and zero edge files are part of a series of stratigraphic framework maps for the Saskatchewan Phanerozoic Fluids and Petroleum Systems (SPFPS) project.The series of stratigraphic framework maps for the Saskatchewan Phanerozoic Fluids and Petroleum Systems (SPFPS) project have been produced using 2 km equi-spaced modified grids generated from Golden Software’s Surfer 9 kriging algorithm. The dataset used to produce each of the maps in this series was created using data from several projects completed by the Ministry (Christopher, 2003; Saskatchewan Industry and Resources et al., 2004; Kreis et al., 2004; Marsh and Heinemann, 2006; Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources et al., 2007; Heinemann and Marsh, 2009); these data were validated and edited as required to facilitate correlations between the various regional projects. In addition, to minimize edge effects during contouring, the senior author also generated stratigraphic data from wells in adjacent jurisdictions.

Get mapping data related to the Northwest Greater Toronto Area Transmission Corridor Identification Study. In June 2019, the Ministry of Energy, Northern Development and Mines along with Ontario’s electricity system planner, the Independent Electricity System Operator, launched the Northwest GTA Transmission Corridor Identification Study to identify an appropriate corridor of land for use by future power lines if and when the need arises.

This GIS dataset depicts the structural bedrock top surface in the Edmonton-Calgary Corridor based on water-well litholog data, including bedrock outcrop locations. We sourced the well data from an internal Edmonton-Calgary Corridor geological mapping database. This surface provides a geological model for the region. These data comprise the raster surface of Alberta Geological Survey Map 549, Bedrock Topography of the Edmonton-Calgary Corridor, Alberta.
