Facilities used by the Ministry of Natural Resources' Aviation Forest Fire and Emergency Services (AFFES) branch. This dataset is used to support aviation forest fire and AFFES business operations.
NG911 Fire Response Boundary - Whitehorse
The Fire Response Boundary layer defines the geographic area for the primary providers of response services. This layer is used by the ECRF (Emergency Call Routing Function) to perform a geographic query to determine which Emergency Service Providers are responsible for providing service to a location in the event a selective transfer is desired, to direct an Emergency Incident Data Document to a secondary PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) for dispatch, or to display the responsible agencies at the PSAP. The PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) Boundary layer defines the given 911 authority's geographic area for the primary providers of response services for the City of Whitehorse. The primary use for the PSAP Boundary is to route emergency requests. Each PSAP Boundary defines the geographic area of a PSAP that has primary responsibilities for an emergency request. Most of these events involved community evacuations, significant structural loss and/or involvement of a Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) Emergency Response Officer. Events include those assigned to MNR by an Order-In-Council under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act as well as events where MNR provided requested emergency response assistance. These events fall into one of ten type categories: * dam failure * drought /low water * erosion * flood * forest fire * soil and bedrock instability * Petroleum Resource Center event * EMO requested assistance * continuity of operations event * other requested assistance This product requires the use of geographic information system (GIS) software.
