Moose Conservation Closures 2022
The purpose of this dataset is to give an accurate representation of the boundaries of lands closed to hunting in Manitoba. The purpose of this dataset is to give an accurate representation of the boundaries of lands closed to hunting in Manitoba. These are defined as lands where hunting and trapping are either prohibited, or special restrictions are in place for certain species and areas are defined within the General Hunting Regulation (351/87), Moose Conservation Closure Regulation (122/2011), Hunting Seasons and Bag Limits Regulation (165/91), and Trapping of Wild Animals Regulation (245/90) of The Wildlife Act (C.C.S.M c. W130). Hunting and trapping prohibitions or restrictions are implemented in certain areas to ensure the conservation of species or enhance public safety. Fields included (Alias (Field Name): Field description) FID (OBJECTID): Sequential unique whole numbers that are automatically generated Id (Id): The number assigned to each restricted area (not currently being used) Name (Name): Name given to the restricted area Restrictions (Restrictions): Description of the restriction applied to the restricted area Director of Surveys Plan (D_of_S): Director of Surveys Plan number which pertains to the boundary of the restricted area Regulation (Regulation): The regulation title defined in The Wildlife Act Shape_Area (Shape_Area): Area of the feature in internal units squared Shape_Length (Shape_Length): Length of the feature in internal units
Topographic Data of Canada - CanVec Series
CanVec contains more than 60 topographic features classes organized into 8 themes: Transport Features, Administrative Features, Hydro Features, Land Features, Manmade Features, Elevation Features, Resource Management Features and Toponymic Features. This multiscale product originates from the best available geospatial data sources covering Canadian territory. It offers quality topographic information in vector format complying with international geomatics standards.CanVec can be used in Web Map Services (WMS) and geographic information systems (GIS) applications and used to produce thematic maps. Because of its many attributes, CanVec allows for extensive spatial analysis.Related Products (Open Maps Links):**[Constructions and Land Use in Canada - CanVec Series - Manmade Features](https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/fd4369a4-21fe-4070-914a-067474da0fd6)****[Lakes, Rivers and Glaciers in Canada - CanVec Series - Hydrographic Features](https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/9d96e8c9-22fe-4ad2-b5e8-94a6991b744b)****[Administrative Boundaries in Canada - CanVec Series - Administrative Features](https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/306e5004-534b-4110-9feb-58e3a5c3fd97)****[Mines, Energy and Communication Networks in Canada - CanVec Series - Resources Management Features](https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/92dbea79-f644-4a62-b25e-8eb993ca0264)****[Wooded Areas, Saturated Soils and Landscape in Canada - CanVec Series - Land Features](https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/80aa8ec6-4947-48de-bc9c-7d09d48b4cad)****[Transport Networks in Canada - CanVec Series - Transport Features](https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/2dac78ba-8543-48a6-8f07-faeef56f9895)****[Elevation in Canada - CanVec Series - Elevation Features](https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/64aad38d-f692-4ab6-bf2c-f938586c1249)****[Map Labels - CanVec Series - Toponymic Features](https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/b3fdcd34-4533-415f-8f83-68f17f9d5d68)**
Surface disturbance mapping extent
This data shows the spatial extent of surface disturbance mapping projects completed by GIS contractors on behalf of Environment Yukon. Within these polygons, features were digitized using high resolution satellite imagery and orthophotos; outside these polygons, disturbance mapping is either incomplete or non-existent.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/en/statistics-and-data/mapping/explore-map-data-using-geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/) . Yukon canadian heritage rivers
The Canadian Heritage Rivers System (CHRS) is Canada's national river conservation program. Established in 1984, the CHRS gives national recognition to Canada's outstanding rivers and encourages their long term management to conserve their natural, cultural and recreational values for the benefit and enjoyment of Canadians, now and in the future. There are currently 42 Canadian Heritage Rivers, 4 are in the Yukon. Species distribution models and occurrence data for marine invasive species hotspot identification
Since 2005, Fisheries and Oceans Canada has been collecting monitoring data for aquatic invasive species (e.g. https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/8d87f574-0661-40a0-822f-e9eabc35780d, https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/503a957e-7d6b-11e9-aef3-f48c505b2a29, https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/8661edcf-f525-4758-a051-cb3fc8c74423). This monitoring data, as well additional occurrence information from online databases and the scientific literature, have been paired with high resolution environmental data and oceanographic models in species distribution models that predict the present-day and future potential distributions of 12 moderate to high risk invasive species on Canada’s east and west coasts. Future distributions were predicted for 2075, under Representative Concentration Pathway 8.5 from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s fifth Assessment Report. Present-day and future richness of these species (i.e., hotspots) has also been estimated by summing their occurrence probabilities. This data set includes the occurrence locations of each species, the present-day and future species distribution modeling results for each species, and the estimated species richness. This research has been published in the scientific literature(Lyons et al. 2020).Lyons DA, Lowen JB, Therriault TW, Brickman D, Guo L, Moore AM, Peña MA, Wang Z, DiBacco C. Bedrock geology
Yukon Bedrock Geology MapThis update of the Yukon bedrock geology map builds upon the previous compilation by Gordey and Makepeace (1999, 2001). It includes new, detailed bedrock geology maps and regional compilations that have been published by the Yukon Geological Survey and the Geological Survey of Canada between 1999 and 2015, as well as some recent thesis works. A few of these maps were partially integrated into the digital dataset by Gordey and Makepeace (2003), but only as overlay to the 1999 compilation. A number of errors and omissions from the 1999 compilation of Gordey and Makepeace were also noted and corrected during compilation of this version of the map.The Yukon bedrock geology GIS dataset is regularly updated and can be downloaded from the Yukon Geological Survey ' s website: [https://yukon.ca/en/science-and-natural-resources/geology](https://yukon.ca/en/science-and-natural-resources/geology) . Users are advised to consult the website regularly to ensure they are working with the latest version of the geodatabase or shape files. This update of the GIS dataset includes an expanded attribute structure (compared to the 1999 dataset) that facilitates searching of the geodatabase. This dataset requires the gscGeology font in order to properly label the bedrock polygons. This font file is packaged with the dataset when downloaded from [https://yukon.ca/maps](https://yukon.ca/maps) or [https://yukon.ca/en/science-and-natural-resources/geology](https://yukon.ca/en/science-and-natural-resources/geology) .The Yukon Geological Survey aims to provide users with the best available geoscience data for Yukon. Any revisions or additional geological information known to the user would be welcomed by the Yukon Geological Survey.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) .
