This geospatial dataset contains the geographic boundaries of the 34 Public Health Units (PHUs) in Ontario, based on Statistics Canada’s Health Region Boundary File (2018). A PHU is the area of jurisdiction of a board of health. PHUs in Ontario are defined in Regulation 553 (Revised Regulations of Ontario), pursuant to Health Protection and Promotion Act R.S.O. 1990, Amended to O. Reg. 64/05.

Statistics Canada, in collaboration with the Public Health Agency of Canada and Natural Resources Canada, is presenting selected Census data to help inform Canadians on the public health risk of the COVID-19 pandemic and to be used for modelling analysis.The data provided here show the population counts and percentage distribution for various geographic levels by broad age groups, males, females and both sexes, from the 2016 Census.

The Agri-Environmental Indicator Soil Organic Matter data series provides a measure of soil health and an estimate of how much carbon dioxide (CO2) has been removed from the atmosphere by plants and sequestered as soil organic carbon (SOC) in agricultural soils.

The Open Database of Healthcare Facilities (ODHF) is a collection of open data containing the names, types, and locations of health facilities across Canada. It is released under the Open Government License - Canada.The ODHF compiles open, publicly available, and directly-provided data on health facilities across Canada. Data sources include regional health authorities, provincial, territorial and municipal governments, and public health and professional healthcare bodies. This database aims to provide enhanced access to a harmonized listing of health facilities across Canada by making them available as open data. This database is a component of the Linkable Open Data Environment (LODE).

The Fish Pathology Program (FPP) located at the Pacific Biological Station in Nanaimo has been assessing the health of aquatic animals since the early 1970’s. Utilizing traditional diagnostic methods, the FPP has supported internal and external clients to provide clinical data and management advice on the health of aquatic animals. The dataset contains information from diagnostic fish health cases coming from the Salmonid Enhancement Program, Research, Public and I&T submissions. Data contained in the database includes pathogen findings from submitted cases from all of the Pacific Region.The publication of The Fish Health Database will comply with public release recommendations documented in recommendation twenty two, made in volume three of the Final Report (October 2012) submitted by the Cohen Commission of Inquiry into the Decline of the Sockeye Salmon in the Fraser River.

Ontario's Healthy Babies Healthy Children program helps infants and children up to age 6 and their families through: * risk screening and assessments * referrals to community programs and services * supports for new parents These shapefiles provide geospatial data for mapping the 34 Healthy Babies and Healthy Children delivery regions in Ontario. __Please note:__ The Healthy Babies Healthy Children program is delivered through Ontario’s public health units in partnership with hospitals and other community partners. The Healthy Babies Healthy Children boundaries align with Public Health Unit boundaries.

Community Health Service Area (CHSA) boundaries; 2022 boundary configuration. The CHSAs are a mutually exclusive and exhaustive classification of the land area in BC. CHSAs are contiguous (land area is geographically adjacent) and fit within the existing geographical hierarchy (cannot violate higher-level geography boundaries such as the Local Health Area).

The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators (CESI) program provides data and information to track Canada's performance on key environmental sustainability issues. The Air quality indicators track ambient concentrations of fine particulate matter, ground-level ozone, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and volatile organic compounds at the national, regional and urban area levels and at local monitoring stations. Information is provided to Canadians in a number of formats including: static and interactive maps, charts and graphs, HTML and CSV data tables and downloadable reports. As the COVID-19 pandemic spreads, researchers and health professionals have noted large differences in the impact that the infection has on individuals. Whereas some remain asymptomatic and unaware of their infection or experience only mild symptoms, others require hospitalization, ventilation, and may even die. As research evidence accumulates, both nationally and internationally, it appears that certain health characteristics, such as obesity or the presence of chronic conditions, increase the risk of severe outcomes among those who are infected with the novel coronavirus.To better understand which segments of the Canadian population may be vulnerable to severe health outcomes related to COVID-19, Statistics Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada have worked collaboratively to build an index of underlying health conditions in the adult household population. Using information from the 2017/2018 Canadian Community Health Survey, new data tables released today estimate the proportion of the adult household population who may be at greater risk of severe health outcomes related to COVID-19 due to the presence of underlying health conditions.

The dashboard is developed by the Public Health Infobase in collaboration with the Health Portfolio Operation Center and the Public Health Geomatics Unit of the Public Health Agency of Canada. The data is provided by the COVID-19 Canada COVID Open Data Working Group (CCODWG) and by the Provinces and Territories through the Public Health Agency of Canada.
