Population size and variation of 2016 forest sector-based communities, 2001 to 2016
This product provides population counts for 2001 and 2016 for 105 census subdivisions (CSDs) for which the forest sector is a major source of employment income—defined by Natural Resources Canada as 20% or more of total CSD income excluding government transfers. These files were produced by Statistics Canada, Environment, Energy and Transportation Statistics Division, 2018, special tabulation from the 2001 and 2016 Census of Population; Natural Resources Canada, Canadian Forest Services, Economic Analysis Division; Canada’s National Forest Inventory (NFI), 2016, Grouped kNN Map layers, http://tree.pfc.forestry.ca (accessed April 7, 2017). Data from the 2016 Census of Population were used to identify the 105 census subdivisions. Note that changes occur to the number and the boundaries of CSDs between censuses. Adjustments were made to CSD boundaries to account for changes. Some data were suppressed for data quality reasons or to meet the confidentiality requirements of the Statistics Act. Income data were available for 3,675 of 5,162 CSDs. This analysis may therefore underreport the total number of communities for which the forest sector is a major economic driver. Note that a decline in the percentage of forest sector income may be due to a decrease in forest sector income or an increase in income from other sources. The reference period for income data in the Census of Population is the calendar year prior to the census. The forest sector includes North American Industry Classification codes 113 – forestry and logging, 1153 – support activities for forestry and logging, 321 – wood product manufacturing and 322 – paper product manufacturing.
Facilities Components - Point
This point-layer shows the locations of components that make up facilities (Facilities are stored in another layer). Examples of facility components are barbeques, picnic tables, benches, or kiosks. See the Comp domain for a complete list. NOTE: Although some of the items in the domain appear to be activities, they are actually physical entities that appear within a facility. A facility component point would be stored in this layer to show a more precise location of the kayak rental place of business.Data is not necessarily complete - updates will occur weekly.

A building is a structure that has a roof and walls and stands more or less permanently in one place. Small buildings have only their location recorded. A 'building to scale' is a structure that has one dimension larger than 50 metres for the 1: 20,000 scale and larger than 30 metres for the 1: 10,000 scale. Their extents are recorded. This product requires the use of geographic information system (GIS) software.
Ministry of Transportation (MOT) Retaining Wall

2011 - Labour Force Distribution (LFD) for Natural Resource Sectors in Canada Employment
This directory contains Labour Force Distribution (LFD) rasters for Natural Resource Sectors generated from data provided in the CanEcumene 3.0 geodatabase. Each raster contains the proportion of employment(e) of either All Sectors (A) or Base Sectors (B). Base Sectors = all NR Sectors + Utilities + Manufacturing (minus-NR sectors primary sector manufacturing - e.g. forest, minerals, petroleum products). Here is the liste of each economic sector: AGR - Agriculture, ELC - Electricity, FIS - Fishery FOR - Forestry, MIN - Minerals, PET - Petroleum, ONR - Other Natural Resources (mostly support industries for Minerals and Petroleum - undifferentiated), NRS - All Natural Resource Sectors (the Total for all NR Sectors). In effect, these maps show the strong importance of Canada’s natural resource sectors in various regions of the country. The darker the tone in each map indicates a region’s higher degree of dependency on a given sector for their economic livelihood. **This third party metadata element follows the Spatio Temporal Asset Catalog (STAC) specification.**
