The Drill Hole layer is located by the collar location taken from mineral exploration reports of work. The attribute table contains a reference to the Mineral Report of Work where the drill hole was reported.

Compilation of drillholes for mineral exploration and Quaternary studies in the Province of Saskatchewan, Canada.This dataset is compilation of uranium drillholes prior to 2007, and since that time has expanded to include metallic and industrial mineral exploration drillholes and surficial sedimentology drillholes. This is an ongoing compilation whereby recent drillholes that become publically available are added. In addition, improvements are frequently made to more historic drillholes with spurious information. The dataset is not an exhaustive list of drillholes in Saskatchewan. **Please Note – All published Saskatchewan Geological Survey datasets, including those available through the Saskatchewan Mining and Petroleum GeoAtlas, are sourced from the Enterprise GIS Data Warehouse.  They are therefore identical and share the same refresh schedule.

A borehole is a general term for any narrow shaft drilled in the ground, either vertically or horizontally. A borehole may be constructed for many different purposes, including: * extraction of water or fluid (e.g., oil) or gases (e.g., natural gas or methane) * for a geotechnical investigation * for an environmental site assessment * for mineral exploration * as a pilot hole for installing piers or underground utilities This data contains a continuous log of strata for each borehole as well as for geocolumns. A geocolumn is a collection of information from an examination of exposed substrate, such as in a quarry wall or along a roadway passage.

The well registry is a collection of records, including drilling logs and report documents, maintained by Yukon Government. These records provide information on the well construction details and subsurface conditions encountered at the time of drilling. Although some information in the dataset may be edited over time, the primary purpose is to document the original drilling conditions and not to provide an updated status of the well. There is no current overarching requirement for drillers or owners to submit well logs, therefore many have been provided on a voluntary basis. Therefore, this should not be expected to be a complete list of all wells across the territory.The water well dataset contains records obtained through the domestic water well program, voluntary submissions, and regulatory processes (licenses and permits). No identifiable personal information will be used or available on the public database. The Permafrost Information Network (PIN) geotechnical borehole database combines existing database compilations into a standard structure. The standardized database was created to be accessible from the PIN web application as a data layer. Further information regarding data compilation can be accessed from the PIN web application.

Geotechnical data comes from investigations performed by geotechnical engineers to obtain information on the physical properties of soil and rock underlying a site for proposed structures. The investigations include surface exploration and subsurface exploration of a site. In addition, site investigations will often include subsurface sampling and laboratory testing of the soil samples retrieved. The digging of test pits and trenching may also be used to learn about soil conditions at depth. Geotechnical data is relevant to our permafrost database as it contains logs of ice encountered at various depths.Yukon Geological Survey has been compiling geotechnical data from various organizations and branches. This data shows spatial density of forage crops in Canada. Regions with higher calculated spatial densities represent agricultural regions of Canada in which forage crops are more expected. Results are provided as rasters with numerical values for each pixel indicating the spatial density calculated for that location. Higher spatial density values represent higher likelihood to have forage crops based on analysis of the 2009 to 2021 AAFC annual crop inventory data.
