Air Quality Risk
The data, created in ArcGIS, represents an assessment of air quality risk for the agricultural area of Alberta in 2005. Agricultural activities that may have some influence on air quality manure production (odour) and cultivation intensity (particulate matter). The airsheds of the agricultural region of Alberta are considered to be uniform in their physical susceptibility to risk from agricultural activities. Air quality risk is a useful measure for those concerned about health, safety and nuisance issues related the quality of air in agricultural areas. Awareness of where agricultural activities related to livestock production and intensive cultivation are located, may be useful for people with health or nuisance related concerns. Blowing soil can cause respiratory problems and can reduce visibility on roads and highways. Dust from farm traffic can be a concern during peak agricultural activity, such as harvesting or manure hauling. Frequent strong odours can be unpleasant nuisance for neighbours. In areas of greater air quality risk, environmental farm planning can help to address the issues and provide solutions. Practices including pen/barn maintenance, method of manure application, manure storage, composting, adjusting, feed rations and reducing or eliminating tillage can be looked at in an environmental farm plan.
Livestock Manure and Mortalities Management Regulation (LMMMR)
This collection of interactive web maps shows issued construction permits and manure management plans required under the Livestock Manure and Mortalities Management Regulation (LMMMR) in Manitoba.This web mapping application provides information about livestock manure management in Manitoba. Each tab displays a different source of data, including issued construction permits for manure storage facilities and confined livestock areas, manure management plans, watershed information, and environment office coverage areas and contact information. Issued Construction Permits: This web map shows construction permits, issued under the Livestock Manure and Mortalities Management Regulation (LMMMR), for manure storage facilities and confined livestock areas in Manitoba. Facilities built before the permit requirement that are registered with the province are also identified on the map. Manure Management Plans: This web map shows where annual manure management plans (MMP) have been submitted in accordance with the Livestock Manure and Mortalities Management Regulation (LMMMR) in Manitoba. The map also shows boundaries for certain areas and the Red River Valley Special Management Area. Ordered Drains: This web map shows the Designated Drains Index and Watershed Districts in Manitoba. Each polygon in the Designated Drains Index represents a drain map area and includes a link to an online drain map. Watershed Districts were established under the The Watershed Districts Act, proclaimed on January 1, 2020. Manitoba's Watershed Districts Program creates healthy and sustainable watersheds through land and water stewardship programs and partnerships. With funding from the Manitoba government and partnering municipalities, locally-appointed watershed district boards make planning and management decisions to improve watershed health across most of municipal Manitoba. Environment Offices: This web map shows coverage areas and provides contact information for Manitoba government Environmental Compliance and Enforcement offices.
Manure Production Index 2001
The data represents the relative amount of manure production in the agricultural area of Alberta. It is an estimate of the degree to which livestock production may contribute to nutrient loading, pathogens and odour. The classes shown on the map are ranked between 0 (lowest) and 1 (highest). This resource was created in 2002 using ArcGIS.

On July 6, a train of 72 cars, carrying 100 tons of crude oil each, exploded in Lac-Mégantic. A high-resolution aerial photograph was collected by Aéro-Photo after the train derailment. This service shows the ratio of immigrants who arrived between 2001 and 2016 to immigrants who arrived before 2001, by census subdivision, 2016. The data is a custom extraction from the 2016 Census - 25% sample data.This data pertains to persons in private households who are immigrants by their period of immigration. 'Immigrant' includes persons who are, or who have ever been, landed immigrants or permanent residents. Such persons have been granted the right to live in Canada permanently by immigration authorities. Immigrants who have obtained Canadian citizenship by naturalization are included in this category. In the 2016 Census of Population, 'Immigrant' includes immigrants who landed in Canada on or prior to May 10, 2016. 'Period of immigration' refers to the period in which the immigrant first obtained landed immigrant or permanent resident status. Survey for Physella wright - the hotwater physa, at Liard River Hotsprings Provincial Park, August 2006.Description of activity:The research is a survey of the Hotwater physa, Physella wrighti, to estimate population distribution and abundance, in order to monitor the population of this freshwater snail found in a single hot spring site in Canada. Researchers will gather data regarding the density of snail populations and the characteristics of the habitat it utilizes in order to provide an updated assessment of its status.The proposed methodology allows accurate, monitoring of this population. Estimates of snail density per square meter will be calculated based on repeated sweeps of vegetation to dislodge snails. Where snails are found on open substrate, counts are done by quadrat. Attempts will be made to document egg case deposition.Population density estimates and ecosystem data will be sampled for every meter of stream where P. wrighti is known to occur. Each sample site will be georeferenced and documented using digital photography.

These structure, isopach and zero edge files are part of a series of stratigraphic framework maps for the Saskatchewan Phanerozoic Fluids and Petroleum Systems (SPFPS) project.The series of stratigraphic framework maps for the Saskatchewan Phanerozoic Fluids and Petroleum Systems (SPFPS) project have been produced using 2 km equi-spaced modified grids generated from Golden Software’s Surfer 9 kriging algorithm. The dataset used to produce each of the maps in this series was created using data from several projects completed by the Ministry (Christopher, 2003; Saskatchewan Industry and Resources et al., 2004; Kreis et al., 2004; Marsh and Heinemann, 2006; Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources et al., 2007; Heinemann and Marsh, 2009); these data were validated and edited as required to facilitate correlations between the various regional projects. In addition, to minimize edge effects during contouring, the senior author also generated stratigraphic data from wells in adjacent jurisdictions.
