Geochronology
Geochronology includes information pertaining to geochronology samples.**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).**
Geochronology
Geochronology is a discipline of geoscience which measures the age of earth materials and provides the temporal framework in which other geoscience data can be interpreted in the context of Earth history. This knowledge helps to answer questions such as when did a volcano last erupt, what is the rate of crustal uplift in a specific area, are rocks at one gold prospect the same age as those at another.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Geochronology
This dataset represents the geochronological ages for selected Precambrian rocks in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. This dataset represents the compilation of geochronological ages for selected Precambrian rocks in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. **Please Note – All published Saskatchewan Geological Survey datasets, including those available through the Saskatchewan Mining and Petroleum GeoAtlas, are sourced from the Enterprise GIS Data Warehouse. They are therefore identical and share the same refresh schedule.
Landsat Image Catalogue Acquisition Dates Spatial View (SII)
Polygons containing the date of capture of the Landsat images used to create the first version of the Baseline Thematic Mapping v1 (BTM1). This spatial view is only meaningful in conjunction with the satellite images or the BTM data derived from the satellite images. The images were captured from 1990 to 1997
MTA - Mineral, Placer and Coal Tenure History SP
Holds historical data for mineral and placer, claims and leases, as well as, coal license applications, licenses and leases within the Province of British Columbia. This layer is utilized by Mineral Titles Online title history on the mineral, placer and coal viewers, respectively.
Seral Stage Assessment Amalgamation Units for the Cariboo Natural Resource Region
This dataset is a combination of landscape unit, biogeoclimatic zone/subzone/variants and Cariboo Chilcotin Land Use Plan (CCLUP) leading group type (PineGroup or FirGroup) used to roll up seral stage assessments in the Cariboo Natural Resource Region. Refer to the **Cariboo Regional Biodiversity Conservation Strategy Update Note #2: Amalgamation of Small NDT-BEC Units in Relation to Assessment of Seral Objectives and Old Growth Management Area Planning** and **Cariboo Regional Biodiversity Conservation Strategy Update Note #3: Definition of the Fir Group and Pine Group for Purposes of Seral Stage Assessments within NDT 4 of the Cariboo-Chilcotin** (see below under "Related Links") for more information on how seral stage assessment amalgamation units are derived.
Canadian Geochronology Knowledgebase
The compilation represents publicly available reports of geochronological information for Canada. This includes federal, provincial and territorial government publications and reports, university theses, books and journals. Current coverage is limited to those areas that have been the target of recent past compilation efforts, with other areas and updates being included as they become ready. Users should be aware that the compilation may not include all available data for a given area. Every effort is made to report the ages without reinterpreting the original authors' intent. However, care has also been taken to highlight the salient features of the data by which the end-user can make initial judgment on the data robustness. Users are cautioned that because of space limitations and the necessary summarization of often complex datasets, that the original publication should be consulted to verify age interpretations and their rationale. Data may be extracted by the user in tab-delimited text format.
Bedrock Geology dataset
This update of the Yukon bedrock geology map builds upon the previous compilation by Gordey and Makepeace (1999, 2001). The data set includes the bedrock geology, faults and contacts, geochronology and map index; published by Yukon Geological Survey (January 2022). New digital data are being released incrementally and will be updated regularly as new parts of the compilation are ready. Any errors noted by the user of this data should be reported promptly to the Yukon Geological Survey.
Prospectivity model for magmatic nickel deposits
Prospectivity model highlights areas of Canada with the greatest potential for magmatic nickel deposits. The preferred prospectivity model is based on public geological, geochemical, and geophysical datasets that were spatially indexed using the H3 discrete global grid system. Each H3 cell is associated with a prospectivity value, or class probability, calculated from the best-performing gradient boosting machines model. Model results are filtered to include the top 20% of prospectivity values for visualization purposes.
