Parks and Campgrounds - Surveyed
A Public Right Area Object representing the spatial extent of a National or Territorial park. This cadastral framework provides a parcel base of properly structured vector data designed and suited for Geographical Information System (GIS) application and can be used for land management purposes. This data set is not be used for defining boundaries. Administrative decisions should be based on legal documents and legal survey plans.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Terranes
The framework of the Cordilleran orogen of northwestern North America is commonly depicted as a 'collage' of terranes - crustal blocks containing records of a variety of geodynamic environments including continental fragments, pieces of island arc crust and oceanic crust. The series of maps available here are derived from a GIS compilation of terranes based on the map first published by Colpron et al. (2007) and more recently revised by Nelson et al. (2013). These maps are presented here in digital formats including ArcGIS file geodatabase (.gdb), shapefiles (.shp and related files), Google Earth (.kmz), as well as graphic files (.pdf). The GIS data includes terrane polygons and selected major Late Cretaceous and Tertiary strike-slip faults. Graphic PDF files derived from the GIS compilation were prepared for the Northern Cordillera (Alaska, Yukon and BC), the Canadian Cordillera (BC and Yukon), Yukon, and British Columbia. These maps are intended for page-size display (\~1:5,000,000 and smaller). Polygons are accurate to \~1 km for Yukon and BC, \~5 km for Alaska. More detailed geological data are available from both BCGC, USGS and YGS websites. Descriptions of the terranes, their tectonic evolution and metallogeny can be found in Colpron et al. (2007), Nelson and Colpron (2007), Colpron and Nelson (2009), Nelson et al. (2013) and references therein. The terrane map project is a collaborative effort of the BC Geological Survey and the Yukon Geological Survey.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . TANTALIS - Crown Land Inventory
TA_CROWN_INVENTORY_SVW contains the spatial representation (polygon) of active and applied for Crown Land Inventory Dispositions. Inventories are lands identified for review to determine the availability to market. The view was created to provide a simplified presentation of this single tenure type from the disposition information in the Tantalis operational system. The same content could be derived from the TA_CROWN_TENURES_SVW by filtering to this tenure type only
Terrestrial Ecosystem Information Scanned Map Boundary
STE_SCANNED_MAP_BOUNDARY_SP includes an index of the mapsheet grid location of Soils, Terrain, Ecosystems and related scanned maps (including Agriculture Capability and Climate Capability maps). These maps are intended for on-screen viewing or printing. The majority of the maps have been geo-referenced. Mapping may not cover the whole map grid area. Some maps are interim or draft and may have been superseded. Some files are of related legends and map project text. Associated scanned map boundary attributes describe the project map (project level metadata) and provide a link for downloading the map, plus links to related reports, geo-referenced maps, and GIS digital data available from other sources. ATTENTION - The IMAGE_URL link is only useable by BC government staff. Public users can download the scanned maps by using the ECOCAT_URL link. There is no charge for the scanned map files. Please note that some maps and more recent mapping may also be available in digital GIS format. See - Ecosystem and Terrain Mapping Data Inventory.
Ministry of Transportation (MOT) Landmark Kilometre Inventory (LKI)
The Landmark Kilometre Inventory spatial layer is used primarily by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOT) to represent routes against which accident data and traffic counts are collected. This method describes roads by a four number designation referred to as a segment (i.e. 0375) This spatial layer was created based on Digital Road Atlas (DRA) centerline using linear referencing
Notice of Work (NoW) Spatial Locations - Public
This point dataset represents both applications for a Mines Act permit and issued authorizations for mining activities proposed in the application. Applications for regional Mines Act permits are known as Notice of Work (NoW) applications. Regional mine permits are issued for mineral and coal exploration activities, sand and gravel production, quarry production, and placer mining. Major mine permits are issued for producing mineral and coal mines. Permits are issued by the chief permitting officer under section 10 of the Mines Act and administered by the ministry. Regional mines include: * Exploration — mineral, coal, rock quarry, industrial mineral or dimension stone * Sand and gravel — aggregate, rock or natural substances used for construction purposes * Placer Most exploration and development activities require a permit under the Mines Act. A decision marks the end of the permitting process for a NoW application. The decision can either be to reject the application or to authorize the mining activities proposed in the NoW. * For new NoW authorizations, a Mines Act permit is issued * For an existing open Mines Act permit, the newly authorized mining activities are amended to the existing permit and the permit is re-issued **NOTE:** Administrative amendments to a NoW are not captured in this dataset. We are currently working to include this addition for a more complete view of the data. For proponents, please log into https://minespace.gov.bc.ca/ to confirm any authorizations on your permits. The ministry is transitioning from point data to polygonal data for permits and authorizations. The polygon dataset is added to when data becomes available. Users should use both the point dataset and the polygon dataset in combination. Polygon representation of permits with authorizations are referred to as Notice of Work (NoW) – Permitted Mine Areas – Regional Mine - Public https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/c728435d-410e-42f9-81d5-95978c90e44a The downloaded product from the BCGW is a complete set of all the NoW public records. In addition to the records that contain lat/long references to be mapped spatially, this includes records that do not have NoW lat/long or mine lat/long coordinates to spatialize. These records are listed in a CSV file (HSP_NOTICE_OF_WORK_PA_POINT_SV_NullGeom). Notice of Work categories include: Notice of Work application type, Notice of Work application status. **Notice of Work application type** Field: NOW_APPLICATION_TYPE_DESC (NW_APPTYPD) * Coal * Mineral * Placer Operations * Quarry – Construction Aggregate * Quarry – Industrial Mineral * Sand and Gravel **Notice of Work application status** Field: NOW_APPLICATION_STATUS_DESC (NW_APPSTAD) * Approved – mining activities in the NoW application have been authorized * Client Delayed – Client needs to provide additional information or reclamation security * Government Action Required – Government needs to action; this status is triggered once a client has provided the requested information and client delay is no longer valid * Referred – Includes referral to agencies and stakeholders, and consultation with First Nations * Rejected – An application is rejected. Either the application standards are not met or requested documentation or security was not provided * Received – The NoW application has been sent from virtual FrontCounterBC to the ministry database * No Permit Required – Category when an inspector reviews the application and non-mechanized disturbance does not require a permit, for example an IP survey * Referral Complete – Referral and consultation is complete. The government needs to action the next steps * Withdrawn – Client requested the application to be withdrawn * Pending verification – Category for records needing review and verification. Typically, these are historical NoW applications with approvals. Manual review is required * NULL value – missing status and application type **For the public view, please be aware that the ministry:** * Only shows mine commodities of gold or jade/nephrite in the MINE_COMMODITY_DESC (MN_COMD) field. All other commodity values remain NULL (empty)
TANTALIS - Crown Land Operating Agreements
TA_CROWN_OPERATING_AGRMNTS_SVW contains the spatial representation (polygon) of active and applied for Crown Land Operating Agreements. Operating agreements provide for use of Crown Land for operation/development but do not provide for future purchasing of land. The view was created to provide a simplified presentation of this single tenure type from the disposition information in the Tantalis operational system. The same content could be derived from the TA_CROWN_TENURES_SVW by filtering to this tenure type only
GeoAI - GeoBase Series
GeoAI are buildings, hydrography, forests, and roads automatically extracted using Deep Learning models applied to a source dataset, typically aerial or satellite images. The primary aim of GeoAI is to increase Canada's availability of high-resolution foundational geospatial data for both spatial and temporal coverage. The infrastructure and expertise put in place by NRCan enables a rapid, efficient, and scalable data creation process through the use of leading-edge technology and Artificial Intelligence models. Published datasets for a given source can be revisited at a later date as more accurate models are developed and put into production. For now, only static files are available, but as the series develops, new products and services will be added.
TANTALIS - Surveyed Right-of-way Parcels
TA_SURVEYED_ROW_PARCELS_SVW contains the spatial representation (polygon) of all parcels of land surveyed for statutory access or Right-of-Way purposes, with active surveys, that are or have been within the purview of the B.C. Crown Land Management program. The view was created to provide a simplified view of this data from the survey parcel information in the Tantalis operational system
