Crop (corn) heat units
Crop Heat Units (CHU) are calculated on a daily basis, using the maximum and minimum temperatures in order to account for a crop’s negative response to higher temperatures. The formula used to calculate the CHU value for a day is: (1.8 × (Minimum Temperature − 4.4) + 3.33 × (Maximum Temperature − 10) − 0.084 × (Maximum Temperature − 10)²) ÷ 2.0CHU values are only accumulated during the Growing Season, April 1 through October 31.
Monthly Mean of Water Level or Flow
The monthly mean is the average of daily mean values for a given month.
MTA - Coal Grid, Unit
Determines the location of Coal Titles within the Province of British Columbia. It is established under the authority of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Grid Regulation. It is defined by a set of UTM coordinates which approximate NAD 27 latitude and longitude positions. Units are the finest level of the Coal Grid. They are defined by UTM coordinates for their corners and the mid points of the four sides. A unit is the base building block for creating the Coal Grid. In a block there are 100 units, 10 rows by 10 columns, and numbered consecutively, starting in the southeast corner. The units are numbered 1 to 10, 11 - 20 etc. always reading from right to left. Red River Flood - 2009
The purpose of this feature layer is to provide the 2009 overland flooding boundary in the Red River Valley. This dataset shows the extent of peak overland flooding in the Red River Valley in 20 09 . Data is based on RADARSAT – 1 satellite imagery. During processing, the raw data set was resampled to 12.5 meter pixel resolution, then classified using PCI Geomatica software which is a specialized software designed to manipulate space born imagery. The final output depicting the flooding boundary is available as a TIFF or Shapefile. Launched in November 1995, RADARSAT-1 was a Canadian-led project which provided useful information to both commercial and scientific users in such fields as disaster management, agriculture, cartography, hydrology, forestry, oceanography, ice studies and coastal monitoring. Equipped with a powerful synthetic aperture radar (SAR) instrument, it acquired images of the Earth day or night, in all weather and through cloud cover, smoke and haze. As of March 2013, the satellite was declared non-operational and is no longer collecting data. Many applications were developed to take advantage of RADARSAT-1 capacity for detecting the presence of water. These included monitoring flooding and the build-up of river ice, and mapping the melting of snow-covered areas. When used for flood monitoring, RADARSAT-1 data helped assess the impact of flooding, predicted the extent and duration of floodwaters, analyzed the environmental impact of water diversion projects, and developed flood mitigation measures. Oil and Gas Grid Units
This is the Grid Unit portion of the Oil and Gas Land Division System. This is a grid system consisting of three sections, Area, Section and Unit used to describe Yukon Oil and Gas Dispositions, Leases and Licences. Every Grid Section shall be divided into Units.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Range Units
A Range Unit is an administrative area established to assist in the management of the range program. Typically made up of one or more pastures. Generally, one or more Range Units make up a Stock Range
Natural Resource (NR) Regions
The spatial representation for a Natural Resource (NR) Region, that is an administrative area established by the Ministry, within NR Areas. These boundaries are designated by the Lieutenant Governor in council and published as regulations which establishes the Ministry's management areas. This dataset supersedes WHSE_ADMIN_BOUNDARIES.FADM_REGION
