Water Geochemical Data, Saline Aquifer Project, 2011 (tabular data, tab delimited format)
In 2011, for the Alberta Geological Survey Saline Aquifer Mapping Project, we collected and analyzed 40 water samples from oil wells producing from geological units, including the Cardium, Viking, Mannville, Glauconitic, Ellerslie, Nordegg, Banff, Wabamun, Nisku and Leduc, within approximately 200 km of Edmonton, Alberta. We analyzed filtered water samples for pH, density and specific conductance. oxygen, hydrogen and strontium isotopes. and dissolved constituents, including sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, barium, strontium, lithium, chloride, bromide, sulphate, sulphide, silica and inorganic carbon.

We analyzed filtered water samples for pH, density and specific conductance. oxygen, hydrogen and strontium isotopes. and dissolved constituents, including sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, barium, strontium, lithium, iron, manganese, chloride, bromide, sulphate, sulphide, silica and inorganic carbon.
Projects funded by the EVAFIDI, ZEVIP, and CHRI infrastructure programs
Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP) and Electric Vehicle and Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Deployment Initiative (EVAFIDI) qualitative, quantitative, and geographic data set derived from the program database. This data defines the project number, the number of chargers, the name of the promoter, the type of connector, the address, the city, the province, the postal code, the geographical coordinates, the status, the opening date, and the type of contribution agreement for each project funded by the program.The Canada Infrastructure Bank’s (CIB) Charging and Hydrogen Refuelling Infrastructure Initiative (CHRI) aims to reduce transportation sector greenhouse gas emissions by accelerating the private sector’s rollout of large-scale ZEV chargers and hydrogen refuelling stations, helping to spur the market for private investment.Through this initiative, the CIB has dedicated a minimum of $500 million to support the federal government’s goals as part of Canada’s 2030 Emissions Reduction Plan. Technology funding current to 30 June 2025.
Yukon Sulphide Pb and S Isotope Compilation
This compilation includes S (1251 analyses) and Pb (1622 analyses) isotopic data from nearly 450 mineral occurrences. Approximately 300 of these occurrences are located in Yukon and the remainder are located in British Columbia, Alaska or Northwest Territories. To facilitate data interpretation, a hierarchical deposit model scheme and mineralization age are ascribed to each occurrence.The Pb isotope portion of this compilation builds upon the compilation by Collin Godwin (1988) that was subsequently maintained by the University of British Columbia. Data from Alaska are primarily from the Gaccetta and Church (1989) compilation.This dataset is designed to be used in conjunction with a GIS platform and as such is presented here as a "flat file" (i.e., shapefile, geodatabase and text formats). The simple data structure allows for easier integration into GIS platforms and greater spatial querying of the data.This sulphide isotope database will be subject to periodic updates as new data are acquired through ongoing mapping, exploration and other research activities. Any errors, omissions or new data known to users should be reported to the Yukon Geological Survey. This compilation includes two isotope datasets for Yukon. The first dataset comprises whole-rock (Nd, Hf, Sr, Pb, S and O) and feldspar (Pb) isotope analyses; the second sulphide (S and Pb) isotope analyses.
Waste Management Site
This new data class brings over data from the Waste Management Information System (WMIS), which is a Microsoft Access based database used by the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) to track Waste Management Sites. This was married with the spatial data from Waste Disposal Sites where possible Different Waste Disposal Site types collected by the Ministry of Natural Resources include: * Compost Disposal * Hazardous Waste Disposal * Household Waste Disposal * Industrial Waste Disposal * Septic Drying Bed * Septic Field * Sewage Disposal * Tile Bed * Transfer Station This product requires the use of geographic information system (GIS) software.

Concentrations of suspended particulate matter (SPM) in the St. Lawrence
The layer provides information on suspended particulate matter (SPM) concentrations by area. There is a natural interaction phenomenon between hydrocarbons and SPM, that creates hydrocarbon-SPM aggregates. The SPM in the water column, hence has an effect on hydrocarbon capacity to sink to the bottom in aggregate form (Gong et collab., 2014 ; Fitzpatrick et collab., 2015, cited in Centre d'expertise en analyse environnementale du Québec, 2015). Additional InformationThe suspended particulate matter data for this layer are derived from multiple sources given the need to cover the St. Lawrence portion from Montreal to Anticosti. The layer has been cut into 6 different zones. Denis Lefaivre, a researcher at Maurice-Lamontagne Institute, has provided the coordinates of the points allowing the delimitation of areas. The values in each zone are derived from different studies carried out at different times. Asian Longhorned Beetle Regulated Areas
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) established a regulated area as part of its efforts to eradicate the Asian longhorned beetle (ALHB). With the regulation of this area, there are restrictions on the movement of nursery stock, trees, logs, lumber, wood, wood chips and bark chips from certain deciduous trees identified as hosts of the ALHB and firewood of all species. These restrictions are necessary to prevent the spread of the ALHB. This protects Canada's environment and forest resources, and also helps keep international markets open to the forest industry and nurseries in non-regulated parts of Ontario and in the rest of Canada.
