The Indigenous Community Infrastructure dataset depicts infrastructure projects across Canada that are supported by Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) targeted infrastructure funding. It contains data related to project category, description, status, departmental investment and community. The dataset allows the Department to pinpoint and share information about individual infrastructure projects in Indigenous communities, in a proactive and transparent manner, to: • Showcase where and how investments are carried out • Demonstrate the Government’s commitment to address socio-economic gaps between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities in Canada and improve access to high-quality servicesProjects featured in this Indigenous Community Infrastructure dataset are updated on a quarterly basis. Importance of the forest industry to the regional economy
Many communities in Canada depend to some extent on forestry and the forest sector. The importance of the forest industry to the regional economy can be assessed using the CanEcumene GIS Database. “Ecumene” is a term used by geographers, meaning “inhabited lands.” A forest ecumene refers to areas where human settlement coincides with forested areas, including locations where people depend on the forest for their livelihood. Populated places in the ecumene database are referenced using natural boundaries, as opposed to administrative or census boundaries, and provide a more suitable means for integrating socio-economic data with ecological and environmental data in a region.An analysis of ecumene labour force data and location of mill facilities resulted in a generalized rendering showing regional dependency of the forest industry. The location of mill facilities layer includes information on mill type (i.e., pulp and saw) and ownership. The sensitivity to forest industry layer shows which forest communities and regions are more sensitive to economic impacts in the forest industry.Two layers are provided: the sensitivity of forest communities and regions to forest industry, and the location of mill facilities.

OTHERROAD_OFFICIAL provides the geospatial information of urban road network in the Province of Saskatchewan. It is one of the base layer used to create "Roadseg" layer for Saskatchewan Upgraded Road Network (SURN) and National Road Network (NRN). This data layer contains relatively up-to-date and accurate description of all urban roads in the provinceOTHERROAD_OFFICIAL consists of all the roads within the urban limits and any other roads those are not the part of RURALROAD_OFFICIAL and HIGHWAY_OFFICIAL. Original geometry of this layer is derived from National Road Network data layer. Urban Municipalities are responsible of the correctness and currentness of the Urban road network and Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure (MHI) maintained OTHERROAD_OFFICIAL data layer/table according to the NRN standards. Unique Identifiers (NID) is associated with each line segment. "OTHER_ROAD_ID" is an auto generated unique ID for each road segment in OTHER_ROAD_OFFICIAL. "NID" National Identifier is used to manage the updates between data producer and data users. OTHERROAD_OFFICIAL data layer is one of the important data table for SURN, NRN, SASK911, CAR and other applications.

RURALROAD_OFFICIAL provides the geospatial information of rural municipal road network in the Province of Saskatchewan. It is one of the base layer used to create "Roadseg" layer for Saskatchewan Upgraded Road Network (SURN) and National Road Network (NRN). This data layer contains relatively up-to-date and accurate description of all RM roads in the provinceRURALROAD_OFFICIAL consists of Rural Municipal (RM) road system in Saskatchewan. RM road system is based on the Dominion Lands Survey. Original geometry of this layer is derived from National Road Network data layer. Rural Municipalities are the responsible of the correctness and currentness of the day and Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure (MHI) maintained this data layer/table according to the NRN standards. This data layer is based on the Linear Reference System (LRS) concepts. KM_FROM and KM_TO fields store the start point and the end point at Kilometer information of the line segment. Unique Identifiers NID) is associated with each line segment. The "DESRD_PPID" is the combination of RM Number, Project Number and Road Type (224-201-10). RURALROAD_ID auto generated unique ID for each rural road segment. "NID" National Identifier is used to manage the updates between data producer and data users.
