Manitoba Waterbody Stocking Records
This dataset contains information on fish stockings since 1917 in Manitoba waterbodies with details on date of stocking, amount of fish, size of fish and species of fish.Stocking Data is a point layer representing individual stocking events dating back to 1917. Each record contains information such as waterbody name, fish species, fish size and quantities, as well as the fishing division of the waterbody. Stocking data is updated multiple times per year as the Province of Manitoba Hatchery conducts stocking. The stocking data layer, along with related information, can be found at the Manitoba Lake Information For Anglers app. The project was initiated by Manitoba Wildlife and Fisheries Branch with funding from the Fish and Wildlife Enhancement Fund. Data is provided by Manitoba Wildlife and Fisheries Branch, Swan Valley Sport Fishing and Manitoba Watershed Districts. For additional information visit Manitoba Fisheries. The dataset includes the following fields (Alias (Name): Description) Waterbody ID (WATERBODY_ID): Unique identifier for an individual waterbody. Waterbody Name (WATERBODY_NAME): Name of the waterbody that was stocked. Hazardous Substances and Waste Dangerous Goods Storage Facilities
The Ministry of Environment is responsible for Hazardous Substance and Waste Dangerous Goods Storage in Saskatchewan.Storing hazardous materials and waste dangerous goods in accordance with the Hazardous Substances and Waste Dangerous Goods Regulations (HSWDG), helps to avoid environmental impacts or risk to human health. To minimize these risks, the regulations ensure storage facilities are constructed, operated and decommissioned properly. The Ministry of Environment must approve the construction, alteration or expansion of a facility to handle hazardous substances or waste dangerous goods. All hazardous substance storage facilities require construction and operating approvals. Owners also require an approval from the Ministry of Environment to dismantle or decommission equipment used to store and handle hazardous substances and waste dangerous goods when they are no longer in use. For further information, please contact the Ministry of Environment Inquiry Centre (Toll Free) at 1-800-567-4224, centre.inquiry@gov.sk.ca or visit the hazardous materials storage page on saskatchewan.ca.

Know concentration areas of the Softshell clam in the intertidal zone of the Estuary and the Gulf of St. Lawrence
The dataset represents known concentration areas of harvested or unharvested Softshell clam (Mya arenaria) in the intertidal zone of the Estuary and the Gulf of St. Lawrence, Quebec region. The dataset was created for the National environmental emergencies centre (NEEC) for preparation and response in case of an oil spill. Concentration areas were defined using Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) inventories conducted between 2000 and 2020.This layer is dependent on the inventories carried out and thus only represents known clam areas. For example, for the Haute-Côte-Nord, inventories have been limited to areas open to harvesting (with the exception of 4 sectors), but it is known that the Softshell clam is also present outside these areas. In addition, little information was available for the Moyenne and Basse-Côte-Nord.This data layer does not represent the general distribution of the species nor the extent to which fishing is allowed. The extent of shellfish beds may vary over time in response to, among others harvesting and the recruitment rates. The boundaries of polygons from inventory data may be underestimated relative to the actual size of the deposit since the inventories were conducted at the location where the resource is most abundant, without necessarily sampling the entire bed. However, the accuracy is sufficient for the protection and management needs of the resource in the event of an environmental incident. Data sources and references:Brulotte, S. 2011.
