This point feature layer contains both general and detailed information on waterbodies in Manitoba which are associated with the Lake Information for Anglers program.The point data contained within this layer represent the centroids of waterbodies in Manitoba. The layer describes a number of different attributes about a waterbody including, where available: average depth, aquatic invasive species information, regulatory links, presence of contours, waterbody specific PDF, fish assessment information, species information and coordinates. The waterbody data layer, along with related information, can be found at the Manitoba Lake Information For Anglers app. The project was initiated by Manitoba Wildlife and Fisheries Branch with funding from the Fish and Wildlife Enhancement Fund. Average Depth (m) (AVERAGE_DEPTH_M): Average depth of a waterbody, if bathymetric data is available. Secchi (SECCHI): Indicates whether data exists for secchi depth in the waterbody (YES/NO). Secchi Depth (m) (SECCHI_DEPTH): Depth in meters of the visibility of a secchi disk. Fishing Division (FISHING_DIVISION): Indicates which fishing division the waterbody centroid is within. Digitization of long-term water chemistry data collected between 1920's - 1990's from lakes across Saskatchewan by the Saskatchewan Fisheries Research Laboratory. Samples were collected using methods from the Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater (APHA, AWWA and WPCF). This data serves as a baseline for water quality.This dataset is a digitization from paper records of water chemistry data across Saskatchewan collected by the Saskatchewan Fisheries Research Laboratory. Data ranges from the 1920's to the 1990's and were sampled using methodes from the Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater (American Public Health Association, American Water Works Association and Water Pollution Control Facility) This long-term water chemistry data serves as a baseline for water quality. Different variables of water chemistry are organized into individual fields. The units of measurement appear at the end of each field name. The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators (CESI) program provides data and information to track Canada's performance on key environmental sustainability issues. The Water quality in Canadian rivers indicators provide a measure of the ability of river water across Canada to support plants and animals. At each monitoring site, water quality data are compared to water quality guidelines to create a rating for the site. If measured water quality is below the guidelines, it can maintain a healthy ecosystem. Water quality at a monitoring site is considered excellent when substances in a river are very rarely measured above their guidelines. Conversely, water quality is rated poor when measurements are usually above their guidelines, sometimes by a wide margin. These indicators provide information about the state of surface water quality and its change through time, to support water resource management. Information is provided to Canadians in a number of formats including: static and interactive maps, charts and graphs, HTML and CSV data tables and downloadable reports. Temporary Protection Orders (TPOs) are ministerial orders that can be implemented to curtail water users during times of water scarcity to protect streamflow availability fish populations and the aquatic ecosystem. TPOs were implemented under Section 9 of the Fish Protection Act prior to 2016, but are now implemented under Section 86, 87 and 88 of the Water Sustainability Act. This dataset is a compilation of data hosted on TPOs to date across British Columbia and is maintained by the Watershed Stewardship and Security Branch within the Ministry of Water, Lands and Resource Stewardship. The purpose of the dataset is to communicate to water users when and where TPOs are/were in effect at the watershed scale. For specific details on which water users are affected by a TPO, please refer to the official Ministerial Order document referenced in the dataset.

DNRED has archived images of wall maps that represent pest management treatment plans from 1952-1993. The level of detail of the maps varies greatly over the 40 years of records. Typically, these maps are at a scale of 1:500,000 where 1 centimeter represents 5 kilometers on the ground. The archived treatment plans outline the broad application blocks. Considerable effort was made to digitize these maps in a more accessible format by DNRED and NRCan-CFS. Images were ground referenced and individual treatment polygons were outlined for all years from 1952-1993 so that they could be used in modern geographic information systems.
