Current Land Act tenures and applications for such tenures: a subset of crown land dispositions that are issued for specific purposes and periods of time under an agreement between an individual or company and the provincial government for an interest in crown land. Conveyances of ownership are not included. For example Leases, Licenses and Reserves are included, but Crown Grants and Acquisitions are not. Historical records (e.g. expired, replaced, or completed) are not included in this view.

This dataset of Crown land includes land managed by the Department of Natural Resources and Energy Development (DNRED). Creation – The data was created in the 90s using the codes from the Forest Cover data. In Early 2000 a project was undertaken to correct the errors in ownership that was present in the data. The project compared the data to that of Service New Brunswick and where there were discrepancies in DNRED’s ownership some research was done to correct DNRED’s data, SNB’s data or both. The data is constantly being updated as the department disposes of and/or acquires land, or new survey plans are prepared providing the location of the boundary. Other updates may be done to correct errors after some research has been done on ownership of land. Level of accuracy can vary from boundaries based on the Grant Reference Plans to a survey prepared by a Registered New Brunswick Land Surveyor.

TA_SURVEY_PARCELS_SVW Contains the spatial representation (polygon) of all active primary and subdivision parcels of land that are or have been within the purview of the B.C. Crown Land Management program. The view was created to provide a simplified view of this data from the survey parcel information in the Tantalis operational system. Primary and subdivision parcels are the two types of parcels (as identified by the PARCEL_TYPE attribute) that are generally suitable for transfer of ownership

The NILM is the dominant tool guiding federal land management and ownership in support of Capital functions. The NILM was approved by Treasury Board in 1998 and the first update was approved in 2001. The 2020 NILM Update is the second update.

This feature class includes: Agreement for Sale: a contract between two or more parties to sell and purchase land. The contract identifies conditions and terms of the transaction. Lease: a special contract between a property owner (landlord) and a person wanting temporary enjoyment and use of the property (tenant) in exchange for rent paid to the property owner. Easement: a right of passage over a neighbour's land or waterway. Reservation (or Reserve): sets aside land for other government departments (OGD) or interested party through an OGD, to be used for a specific purpose. A reserve does not give tenure to the land and is not considered a disposition of land. TA_CROWN_LEASES_SVW - A Crown Land Lease is a type of land tenure issued under the Land Act. A Land Act Lease is issued where long term tenure is required, where substantial improvements are proposed, and/or where definite boundaries are required in order to avoid land use and property conflicts. The tenure holder is granted the exclusive use and enjoyment of the area. The tenure holder also has the right to exclude or charge the public for use of the land and/or improvements, when this is consistent with the terms of the lease. Crown Leases require a (cadastral) survey prior to issuance

A Crown land reservation is a tool under Section 18(c) of the Public Lands Act, to identify a management intent that will inform and provide direction to potential land users and regulatory bodies as authorized under the Public Lands Act. A reservation is not a disposition, does not grant any rights to public land or rights to access or occupy public land or rights to the resources on the land or under it. The Crown Land Reservations dataset displays reservations under application or active with their associated data attributes allowing users to view and access existing or proposed reservation information that could influence their application if a proposed activity intersects.
