In British Columbia, there are over 100 Livestock Districts, Bull Control Areas and Pound Districts established by regulation under the Livestock Act. Livestock Districts, with minor exceptions, are areas where livestock may run at large within the district boundaries. Bull Control Areas are areas within Livestock District, in which Bull Control Committees may make rules respecting the number, breed, breeding, quality and age of bulls allowed to run at large. Pound Districts are areas where keepers, peace officers and others may impound animals at large, and allow for the sale of unclaimed impounded animals and the reimbursement of the keeper. These files from Statistics Canada present Census of Agriculture data allocated by standard census geographic polygons: Provinces and Territories (PR), Census Agricultural Regions (CAR), Census Divisions (CD) and Census Consolidated Subdivisions (CCS). Five datasets are provided:1. Agricultural operation characteristics: includes information on farm type, operating arrangements, paid agricultural work and financial characteristics of the agricultural operation.2. Land tenure and management practices: includes information on land use, land tenure, agricultural practices, land inputs, technologies used on the operation and the renewable energy production on the operation.3. Crops: includes information on hay and field crops, vegetables (excluding greenhouse vegetables), fruits, berries, nuts, greenhouse productions and other crops.4. Livestock, poultry and bees: includes information on livestock, poultry and bees.5. The data represents the relative amount of manure production in the agricultural area of Alberta. It is an estimate of the degree to which livestock production may contribute to nutrient loading, pathogens and odour. The classes shown on the map are ranked between 0 (lowest) and 1 (highest). This resource was created in 2002 using ArcGIS.

Wildlife Management Units are used for a number of wildlife management purposes, like indicating the areas of Ontario where hunting open seasons and harvest quotas apply. Wildlife Management Unit boundaries are regulated under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act - Ontario Regulation 663/98, Part 6 as amended.

The Wildlife Management Unit Biologist Contact Boundaries dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent the Wildlife Management Unit Biologist Contact Boundaries within the Province of Alberta. The dataset is to help determine which Biologist is responsible for each Wildlife Management Unit. Please refer to the metadata included with the data for full entity attribute information.

A Stock Range is an administrative area established to coincide with local livestock association areas. Generally, stock ranges are made up of one or more range units. Stock ranges are found in select areas of the province where applicable; not all areas of the province contain stock ranges

The wildlife values area and site datasets represent the consolidation of 13 wildlife data classes collected by the Ministry of Natural Resources. The data estimates locations used by wildlife for various reasons, including: * breeding * calving and fawning * denning * feeding * staging * nesting * wintering * general habitat areas * nurseries * travel corridors Locations are represented as points (site) or polygons (area) and may be related to a specific species or described more generally. Wildlife values data is most often used to support policy and legislation associated with the Crown Forest Sustainability Act. The data may also be used to inform a wide range of resource management activities and decisions. There are additional sensitive features related to provincially tracked species and species at risk that are not available as part of the open data package.
