The well registry is a collection of records, including drilling logs and report documents, maintained by Yukon Government. These records provide information on the well construction details and subsurface conditions encountered at the time of drilling. Although some information in the dataset may be edited over time, the primary purpose is to document the original drilling conditions and not to provide an updated status of the well. There is no current overarching requirement for drillers or owners to submit well logs, therefore many have been provided on a voluntary basis. Therefore, this should not be expected to be a complete list of all wells across the territory.The water well dataset contains records obtained through the domestic water well program, voluntary submissions, and regulatory processes (licenses and permits). No identifiable personal information will be used or available on the public database. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) established a regulated area as part of its efforts to eradicate the Asian longhorned beetle (ALHB). With the regulation of this area, there are restrictions on the movement of nursery stock, trees, logs, lumber, wood, wood chips and bark chips from certain deciduous trees identified as hosts of the ALHB and firewood of all species. These restrictions are necessary to prevent the spread of the ALHB. This protects Canada's environment and forest resources, and also helps keep international markets open to the forest industry and nurseries in non-regulated parts of Ontario and in the rest of Canada.

In 2002 the Alberta Geological Survey initiated a project to scan and digitize water well geophysical logs from Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development (ESRD) water well data holdings. Casual and summer student staff scanned hard copy logs systematically by NTS mapsheet starting with the Cold Lake area. Scanned logs were digitized into Log ASCII Standard version 2 by Divestco Ltd. This data release consists of 8,763 LAS files, comprised mostly of resistivity logs, and a tab delimited index file. About 1% of the LAS files also contain a natural gamma log. The API number (APIN) in the log header refers to Alberta Environment's water well identifier number used at the time the logs were digitized. There are 205 records where the API number starts with 900. We were unable to confidently match the log file surface location to an AENV location for these records. The approximate aerial coverage is from latitude 49 degrees to 56 degrees N and from longitude 110 degrees to 120 degrees W. This work concluded in March, 2007.

This dataset evaluates the sandstone-hosted uranium potential of Alberta. An Alberta Geological Survey database of oil and gas well logs were queried to identify wells with gamma values greater than 300 API (American Petroleum Institute units). An algorithm written for this analysis queried more than 48 000 gamma ray logs from more than 22 000 wells. Of those, 11 476 readings greater than 300 API, within the upper 500 metres, were found in 6176 wells. We selected 1318 wells, verified the anomaly and determined rock types using a combination of gamma, density and resistivity logs. This dataset is associated with Alberta Geological Survey Open File Report 2009-0012.

The Department of Natural Resources and Renewables (NRR) (formerly the Department of Energy and Mines) and Nova Scotia Environment and Climate Change (ECC) maintains an electronic Well Log Database which contains water well construction and location information for water wells in the Province of Nova Scotia. Information in the database is entered from original paper copies of well logs that are submitted by certified well drillers and well diggers to ECC. This version of the database was extracted on January 5, 2022 and contains 125,517 well logs constructed between 1940 and 2021, inclusive.

RESULTS opening's forest cover polygons with inventory component provided. Current forest cover submissions into RESULTS must contain attribute and map information. However, there are historical forest cover polygon information where maps are not available. Forest Cover is provided at three critical milestones of at harvesting, at achieved regeneration and at free growing. This product provides population counts for 2001 and 2016 for 105 census subdivisions (CSDs) for which the forest sector is a major source of employment income—defined by Natural Resources Canada as 20% or more of total CSD income excluding government transfers. These files were produced by Statistics Canada, Environment, Energy and Transportation Statistics Division, 2018, special tabulation from the 2001 and 2016 Census of Population; Natural Resources Canada, Canadian Forest Services, Economic Analysis Division; Canada’s National Forest Inventory (NFI), 2016, Grouped kNN Map layers, http://tree.pfc.forestry.ca (accessed April 7, 2017). Data from the 2016 Census of Population were used to identify the 105 census subdivisions. Note that changes occur to the number and the boundaries of CSDs between censuses. Adjustments were made to CSD boundaries to account for changes.Some data were suppressed for data quality reasons or to meet the confidentiality requirements of the Statistics Act. Income data were available for 3,675 of 5,162 CSDs. This analysis may therefore underreport the total number of communities for which the forest sector is a major economic driver. Note that a decline in the percentage of forest sector income may be due to a decrease in forest sector income or an increase in income from other sources. The reference period for income data in the Census of Population is the calendar year prior to the census.The forest sector includes North American Industry Classification codes 113 – forestry and logging, 1153 – support activities for forestry and logging, 321 – wood product manufacturing and 322 – paper product manufacturing.

This publication contains vector data (shapefile) of the post-harvest forest residues in Canada for the bioenergy/bioproducts sector in oven-dry tonnes per year (ODT/yr) over the next 20 years. The maps were produced using different remote sensing products. We used forest attribute data at 250 m MODIS for the years 2001 and 2011 (Beaudoin et al. 2014 and 2018) combined with forest cover changes for the years 1985 to 2015 contained in the CanLaD dataset at 30 m Landsat(Guindon et al. 2017 and 2018). Results of available biomass (in the form of harvest residues) were reported at the 10 km x 10 km scale, while the map of mature forests in Canada was prepared at the forest management unit (FMU) level. Briefly, our methodology consisted of three steps: 1- create a map of mature forests for the year 2011, based on 2001-2010 average cut volumes within FMUs; 2- develop an annual cut rate from the area harvested within FMUs from 1985 to 2015 and; 3- define the amount of biomass in the form of forest residues available for the bioenergy sector. The biomass of branches and leaves of forest attribute data was used as a proxy to define the biomass of forest residues available. Nationally, the average biomass of forest residues available after harvest is 26 ± 16 ODT/ha, while the total annual availability for all managed forests in Canada was 21 million ODT/yr.
