National Human Settlement - Social Fabric and Capacity Thresholds
The Social Vulnerability component of the National Human Settlement Layer (NHSL) includes information about broad spatial patterns of social vulnerability at the neighbourhood scale, and indicators about the capacities for a community to withstand and recover from disaster events based on intrinsic characteristics of housing, family structure, individual autonomy and financial agency.Information in the model provides a means of comparing relative levels of social vulnerability from one region to another across Canada and helps to identify specific dimensions within a community that contributes to their relative levels of social vulnerability. This information is not intended for site-specific study, but instead to understand broad patterns of social characteristics and vulnerability across multiple census dissemination areas.
Greenbelt towns and villages
General information on the location of towns and villages (settlement areas) in the countryside areas protected by Greenbelt plan. For precise boundaries and locations of settlement areas, the appropriate municipality should be consulted.
Caribou Herd Locations for BC
This data contains the current caribou subpopulation (herd) boundaries. Herd boundaries are derived from the best available science and expert knowledge. A caribou subpopulation (herd) boundary is the area required to be managed to achieve a self-sustaining population. Subpopulation boundaries do not overlap even though some caribou subpopulations share portions of their annual range. *This dataset is the focal point of the Caribou in British Columbia - Web Application.

Fire Disturbance Area
A Fire Disturbance Area represents the mapped exterior perimeter of a forest fire. Mapping is derived from a variety of sources, such as GPS points and digitized paper maps. Prior to 1998, only fires greater than 200 hectares were mapped. Since 1998, fires greater than 40 hectares have been mapped. If adequate mapping exists for fires less than 40 hectares in size, they will be included in this data class. The [Forest Fire Info Map](https://www.lioapplications.lrc.gov.on.ca/ForestFireInformationMap/index.html?viewer=FFIM.FFIM) shows active fires, current fire danger and restricted fire zones in place due to high fire danger.
Communities and subdivisions - surveyed
Features are Administrative Land Objects that represent the spatial extents of a jurisdiction that is created and managed as a separate entity within the ICM database. Un-derived Administrative Areas include QUADs, Groups, Subdivisions, Municipalities, Block Land Transfers, Settlement Areas, Districts and Regions. Un-derived Administrative Areas also include the spatial extent of site that do not have a specific administrative boundary such as Indian settlements and national historic sites. In the LYR files for CSW, the QUADs & Groups were removed with a Query Builder. This cadastral framework provides a parcel base of properly structured vector data designed and suited for Geographical Information System (GIS) application and can be used for land management purposes. This data set is not be used for defining boundaries. Administrative decisions should be based on legal documents and legal survey plans.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) .
