The Plains, Northern, Foothills Boundary feature class contains polygon features representing Department of Energy Regional Boundaries for the Province of Alberta.

The dataset accompanies Alberta Geological Survey Open File Report 2009-01. The dataset contains the results of geochemical analyses of rock samples from the Bad Heart Formation, Clear Hills region and Smoky River region (northwestern Alberta) collected by Alberta Geological Survey from 2004 to 2007. The data comprise elemental analyses of 325 rock samples, including ooidal ironstone, ooidal sandstone, sandstone, siltstone, shale, Bad Heart rubble and till, and conglomerate.

The Transportation Region is the first level of administrative zones established by Alberta Transportation to manage roads (primary and secondary highways) under their jurisdiction. Alberta Transportation Region is sub-divided into Alberta Transportation District.

The Alberta Transportation District dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent Alberta Transportation Districts in Alberta. The Transportation District is the second level of administrative zones established by Alberta Transportation to manage roads (primary and secondary highways) under their jurisdiction. Alberta Transportation District indicates the subunits of Alberta Transportation Region.
