This layer comprises all the available water wells in GIN (Yukon, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador) and published through the open data platforms. This layer is a combination of all individual provincial and territorial layers. The original databases are dynamically converted by an automatic process managed by Natural Resources Canada (Groundwater Information Network).

The Ontario Stewardship Program has established Stewardship Councils across Ontario. Ministry of Natural Resources staff no longer directly administer and support Ontario Stewardship Councils. Community-based partners and stakeholders now independently administer Stewardship Councils. We are no longer updating this data. It is best suited for historical research and analysis. __Stewardship Zone__ The Ontario Stewardship Program divides the province into four administrative regions or zones. Any given Stewardship Council will fall into one of these zones. __Stewardship Council Area__ The Ontario Stewardship Program established Stewardship Councils across southern Ontario and a portion of Northern Ontario. Where these councils have defined administrative boundaries, the location is stored in this data class. __Stewardship Council Location__ Most councils have established administrative boundaries that generally conform to upper tier municipalities. There are some councils in Northern Ontario which are generally located in and around a certain geographic location but do not have established administrative boundaries. This data class is primarily used to store point locations associated with these northern councils.

This data contains an Index identifying Ontario Base Map map tiles. Eastern and Southern Ontario is covered at a scale of 1:10,000. Northern Ontario is covered at a scale of 1:20,000. The Ontario Hydro Network (OHN) is a provincial medium scale originating from data with regional scales of 1: 10,000 in Southern Ontario, 1: 20,000 in Northern Ontario and 1: 50,000 in the Far North. The shoreline is taken from the OHN - Waterbody data class. This data is used for cartographic purposes and web mapping services. The boundaries of provincial park administration zones in Ontario.

This geospatial dataset contains the geographic boundaries of the 34 Public Health Units (PHUs) in Ontario, based on Statistics Canada’s Health Region Boundary File (2018). A PHU is the area of jurisdiction of a board of health. PHUs in Ontario are defined in Regulation 553 (Revised Regulations of Ontario), pursuant to Health Protection and Promotion Act R.S.O. 1990, Amended to O. Reg. 64/05.

A feature is a representation of a real world object, such as a lake, stream, dam or rapid. There are three hydrographic feature classes:  points, lines and polys. All may impede or be hazardous to waterflow and/or navigation on a watercourse or waterbody. This data shows natural and manmade point features. A Township is a land subdivision in Ontario. This information was captured through the Ontario Base Mapping Program, is maintained by the Ministry of Natural Resources and distributed through Geospatial Ontario (GEO) Warehouse. The spatial accuracy for some of the townships was improved through the Ontario Parcel, Township Realignment and Township Improvement projects. Improvements may include: * road allowance widths * spatial changes to better represent where the township boundaries are located * more consistent concession names Materials used to improve the location of township lines may include: * township Improvement plots * survey information i.e. retracements * original township plans * surveys notes * the physical features e.g. fence lines in the corporate editing environment * water bodies * GPS Ontario Road Network geometry This product requires the use of geographic information system (GIS) software.

Wildlife Management Units are used for a number of wildlife management purposes, like indicating the areas of Ontario where hunting open seasons and harvest quotas apply. Wildlife Management Unit boundaries are regulated under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act - Ontario Regulation 663/98, Part 6 as amended.
