This layer comprises all the available water wells in GIN (Yukon, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador) and published through the open data platforms. This layer is a combination of all individual provincial and territorial layers. The original databases are dynamically converted by an automatic process managed by Natural Resources Canada (Groundwater Information Network).

This data contains an Index identifying Ontario Base Map map tiles. Eastern and Southern Ontario is covered at a scale of 1:10,000. Northern Ontario is covered at a scale of 1:20,000. The Ontario Hydro Network (OHN) is a provincial medium scale originating from data with regional scales of 1: 10,000 in Southern Ontario, 1: 20,000 in Northern Ontario and 1: 50,000 in the Far North. The shoreline is taken from the OHN - Waterbody data class. This data is used for cartographic purposes and web mapping services. This geospatial dataset contains the geographic boundaries of the 34 Public Health Units (PHUs) in Ontario, based on Statistics Canada’s Health Region Boundary File (2018). A PHU is the area of jurisdiction of a board of health. PHUs in Ontario are defined in Regulation 553 (Revised Regulations of Ontario), pursuant to Health Protection and Promotion Act R.S.O. 1990, Amended to O. Reg. 64/05.

A Township is a land subdivision in Ontario. This information was captured through the Ontario Base Mapping Program, is maintained by the Ministry of Natural Resources and distributed through Geospatial Ontario (GEO) Warehouse. The spatial accuracy for some of the townships was improved through the Ontario Parcel, Township Realignment and Township Improvement projects. Improvements may include: * road allowance widths * spatial changes to better represent where the township boundaries are located * more consistent concession names Materials used to improve the location of township lines may include: * township Improvement plots * survey information i.e. retracements * original township plans * surveys notes * the physical features e.g. fence lines in the corporate editing environment * water bodies * GPS Ontario Road Network geometry This product requires the use of geographic information system (GIS) software.

Wildlife Management Units are used for a number of wildlife management purposes, like indicating the areas of Ontario where hunting open seasons and harvest quotas apply. Wildlife Management Unit boundaries are regulated under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act - Ontario Regulation 663/98, Part 6 as amended.

Canada is divided into 338 electoral districts. A representative or member of Parliament is elected for each electoral district. Following the release of population counts from each decennial census, the Chief Electoral Officer determines the number of seats in the House of Commons and publishes the information in the Canada Gazette. Electoral boundaries commissions then determine the adjustments to the constituency boundaries. The federal electoral boundaries commissions are independent bodies that make all decisions regarding the proposed and final federal electoral boundaries. Elections Canada provides support services to the boundaries commission in each province. Based on reports from these commissions, the Chief Electoral Officer prepares a representation order that describes the boundaries and specifies the name and the population of each FED. The representation order is in force on the first dissolution of Parliament that occurs at least seven months after its proclamation. The 2013 Representation Order (proclaimed on October 5, 2013) was based on 2011 Census population counts, and increased the number of FEDs to 338, up from 308 from the previous 2003 Representation Order. Ontario received fifteen additional seats, Alberta and British Columbia each gained six seats while Quebec added three seats. On June 19, 2014, the Riding Name Change Act, 2014 (Bill C-37) received Royal Assent changing the names of 31 FEDs. The names of FEDs may change at any time through an Act of Parliament.

All may impede or be hazardous to waterflow and/or navigation on a watercourse or waterbody. This data shows natural and manmade point features.
