Delimitation of the permanent agricultural zone and agricultural inclusions
Delimitation of the permanent agricultural zone and agricultural inclusions, as illustrated in “Map 2-26: Permanent agricultural zone and agricultural inclusions” of the revised land use and development plan of the City of Laval**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).**
Permanent sample plot
__The link: *Access the data directory* is available in the section*Dataset Description Sheets; Additional Information*__.The **permanent sample plot** is a circular sampling unit that covers an area of 400 m2. For each tree, the species, diameter, defoliation of softwoods and the quality of hardwoods are observed and measured. Some of these stems are the subject of further studies in order to know their height and age. Finally, other surveys make it possible to identify the ecological characteristics of the station where the plot is located, whether at ground level or undergrowth plants. Since 1970, **more than 12,000 permanent sample plots have been established ** and are monitored decennial. This data is an invaluable source of information on the growth and evolution of forests in Quebec, a source that is enriched each time additional measures are added. In particular, they are used to establish forest growth rates, describe past changes, and model forest evolution. This database covers almost all of the territory south of the 52nd parallel of Quebec's public and private forest. __ ⚠️ Note:__ Notice to people who want to use the permanent sample plots for training needs or for sampling of any kind. Groundwater Samples, Groundwater Geoscience Program
Groundwater samples have been collected in the hydrogeological unit, for various types of analysis. The dataset is not used to represent a particular phenomenon or observation but rather as a utility dataset to add context and reference to groundwater analysis. It represents a general description of the sample site and sample. Sampling methods vary according to the types of analysis.
Technical and financial activity report (RATF)
Following the execution of forest work, the holders must, each year, prepare and submit to the Minister a Technical and Financial Activity Report (RATF) for each of the elements of the authorized annual programming (PRANA). The technical and financial activity report includes several geometric entities allowing the verification of development works on public forest territory. Here is the list: forest roads, point infrastructure, drainage completed, drainage completed, sample plot, intervention polygons, bridge and culvert, reforested species, intervention monitoring results, intervention sector, intervention sampling unit, intervention follow-up sampling unit.**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).**

The Strait of Georgia Ichthyoplankton Survey, 1979-1981
Ichthyoplankton surveys were conducted in the Strait of Georgia (British Columbia) during 1979-1981 to ascertain the onset of fish spawning, and to explore distributional pattern and estimate total biomass of fish species.Oblique tows were made using 0.25m2 Bongos equipped with 351 micron Nitex nets of modified SCOR design. All sampling gear was black to minimize potential avoidance and resulting catch bias. The tow procedure generally followed that established by CALCOFI.This dataset contains a compilation of corrected catches of juvenile fishes, fish eggs and fish larvae by station.
Oak Ridges Moraine: planning area
This dataset was created to establish a permanent boundary. Lands within this boundary are subject to the principles contained in the Oak Ridges Moraine Legislation. Boundary is complete as of October, 2001.
Growth and Yield Samples - Active Status
**NOTE** This layer is being replaced with the new authoritative source for PSP location: [Growth and Yield Plots - Active Status](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/5da8d02e-cdd8-40f8-b77e-d359f0e67dcd) Growth and Yield dataset is a provincial data set that comprised of Permanent Sample Plots (PSP). The Ministries and resource developers will want the active sample locations to determine where there are recognized feature conflicts with any resource development
Dynamic Surface Water Maps of Canada from 1984-2023 Landsat Satellite Imagery
Knowledge of the location of Earth’s surface water in time and space is critical to inform policy decisions on environment, wildlife, and human security. Dynamic surface water maps generally represent water occurrence, also referred to as inundation frequency, depicting the percentage of valid observations when water is detected at the surface. The location and duration of surface water varies from areas of permanent water with 100% inundation frequency where water is always observed, to areas of permanent land with 0% inundation where water never occurs. Between these two extremes are areas of ephemeral water that experience periodic flooding with inundation frequencies between 0-100%. National-scale dynamic surface water information was generated for years 1984-2023 at 30m spatial resolution from the historical Landsat archive over Canada. The complete dataset consists of annual water maps and derived products including inundation frequency and inter-annual wetting and drying trends calculated using per-pixel logistic regression. The complete dataset enables an assessment of the timing, duration, and trends towards wetting or drying at regional to national scales.Associated publication:https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0034425722002358
Standard Oceanographic Sampling Stations (Pacific)
To develop a database of high quality CTD observations at key locations in DFO’s Pacific Region, 22 stations have been selected for sampling as often as possible. Chief Scientists of DFO vessels with CTD equipment on board are asked to acquire a CTD profile at as many of these stations as possible. There may be circumstances that will prevent conducting a CTD cast but the intent is to collect as many as possible such that over time useful time series of CTD profiles will be available at these locations.
