Contains the boundaries of current British Columbia Strategic Land and Resource Plans (SLRPs). SLRPs provide direction for Crown land use through the establishment of broad land use goals, planning zone designations, objectives and strategies. This layer represents an integrated regional consensus-based process, which requires public and First Nations participation to produce a SLRP for review and approval by government. SLRPs establish direction on land and resource use and specify broad resource management objectives and strategies. Historical plan types include SRMPs, LRMPs, RLUPs and coastal plans. Current, non-retired SLRP boundaries are included in this layer, where RETIREMENT_DATE is blank. RETIREMENT_DATE is the field that stores the retirement date. If RETIREMENT_DATE is empty, the feature is the current shape. The Public Land Use Zone (PLUZ) dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent Public Land Use Zones in Alberta. A Public Land Use Zone is an area of land to which legislative controls are applied to achieve particular land management objectives identified in a guiding land and resource plan. They can be used to protect areas containing sensitive resources such as wildlife and their habitats, vegetation, soils and watersheds as well as to separate or manage conflicting recreational activities. These areas have been designated as Public Land Use Zones, under the authority of Section 178 and 208 of the Public Lands Administration Regulation (PLAR) under the Public Lands Act. Public Land Use Zones were formerly known as Forest Land Use Zones (FLUZ) which were designated under the former Forest Recreation Regulation under the Forests Act. The Public Lands Administration Regulation came into effect on September 12, 2011. At this time, Forest Land Use Zones under the Forest Recreation Regulation were incorporated into the Public Lands Act and Public Lands Administration Regulation. As a result, Forest Land Use Zone became Public Land Use Zone.

The boundaries are established from either Land Claims Final Agreement, Self Government Agreement, Memorandum of Understanding, Local Advisory Area, or from a signed document between Yukon Government and First Nation. An Order in Council is prepared and the new boundary comes into effect. Older LAP's and Community Plans were approved by YG Minister and Cabinet as a policy document. The Eastern Slopes Land Use Zoning dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent Eastern Slopes Land Use Zones in Alberta. The dataset was created as a basis to provide analysis for nominating Special Places sites for later designation, under the Special Places 2000 Project. Don Getty Wildland Provincial Park (which comprised mainly of Zone 1 - Prime Protection & Zone 2 - Critical Wildlife) is one of the examples. Except designated natural areas. zoning and any associated policy direction for managing resources and surface access on the general Crown lands within these land use zones do not apply to lands that have been designated as a park or protected area under the Provincial Parks Act, the Willmore Wilderness Park Act or the Wilderness Areas, Ecological Reserves, Natural Areas and Heritage Rangelands Act. This dataset was compiled from many Integrated Resource Plans (IRP) studies as well as the Eastern Slopes Policy which were used in the former Special Places 2000 Project planning process.

Productive forest land base is defined as the total Crown forest area, determined by subtracting the following from the total area of the Cariboo Natural Resource Region: * All non-Crown land * All Crown land committed to non-timber use through a Land Act designation * All non-forest Crown Land, and * All forest area classified as brush or non-commercial cover in the Forest Inventory.
