In the Capital Urban Lands Plan (2015), Land designations identify the desired uses for federal urban lands in relation to the role they play for the Capital in a given location. 'Province' and 'territory' refer to the major political units of Canada. From a statistical point of view, province and territory are basic areas for which data are tabulated. Canada is divided into 10 provinces and 3 territories. Statistics Canada uses standard codes and abbreviations to represent provinces and territories. The two-digit code that uniquely identifies each province/territory is based on the Standard Geographical Classification (SGC). The code is assigned from east to west. The first digit represents the geographical region of Canada in which the province/territory is located and the second digit denotes one of the 10 provinces and 3 territories.

This dataset is produced for the Government of Alberta and is available to the general public. The Forest Management Agreement (FMA) Published Area dataset consists of polygons representing the areas of land where the Province of Alberta grants FMA holders the rights to establish, grow, harvest, and remove timber in accordance with the relevant regulations and policies. Please note that the distribution contact differs for the general public compared to Government of Alberta ministries. The dataset maintains a spatial record for all geographic areas of Ontario affected by the designations that modify area- specific land use policy. The Innu Audio Index is an extract from the Canadian Geographical Names Data Base (CGNDB) of geographical names with associated audio. The shared audio with the Geographical Names Board of Canada (GNBC) is the intellectual property of the Innu Nation. The points represent official geographical names in Innu-aimun, the language of the Innu Nation. The CGNDB is the authoritative national database of Canada's geographical names. It contains geographical names and their attributes that have been approved by the GNBC, the national coordinating body responsible for standards and policies on place names.The GNBC is working to increase awareness of existing Indigenous place names and help promote the revitalization of Indigenous cultures and languages. The GNBC does not warrant or guarantee that the information is accurate, complete or current at all times. Data describing clean growth and climate change projects that have received federal funding since 2015 that feeds into the Climate Action Map. The data include projects that meet Mitigation, Adaptation and Clean Technology objectives. The data include project names and descriptions, funding information, locations, and recipients.

This dataset includes all MPMO projects at various stages in the review process, including those that are currently undergoing review and those that have completed a review.

Legally defined __Electoral Area__ polygons were drawn from metes and bounds descriptions as written in Letters Patent for Regional District Electoral Areas in the province of British Columbia. In the event of a discrepancy in the data, the metes and bounds description will prevail. Although the boundaries were drawn based on the legal metes and bounds descriptions, they may differ from how regional districts and their member municipalities and electoral areas currently view and/or manage their boundaries. Where discrepancies are noted, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs (the custodian) enters into discussion with the local governments whose boundaries are affected. In order to effect a change to the boundary, Cabinet approval is required. This is done through an Order in Council (OIC). While discrepancies to administrative boundaries are being resolved, boundaries may be adjusted on an ongoing basis until the requested changes are completed. The OIC_YEAR and OIC_NUMBER fields indicate the year that the boundary was passed under OIC and its associated number. The AFFECTED_ADMIN_AREA_ABRVN identifies the administrative areas that are affected by the OIC. Features are Administrative Land Objects that represent the spatial extents of a jurisdiction that is created and managed as a separate entity within the ICM database. Un-derived Administrative Areas include QUADs, Groups, Subdivisions, Municipalities, Block Land Transfers, Settlement Areas, Districts and Regions. Un-derived Administrative Areas also include the spatial extent of site that do not have a specific administrative boundary such as Indian settlements and national historic sites. In the LYR files for CSW, the QUADs & Groups were removed with a Query Builder. This cadastral framework provides a parcel base of properly structured vector data designed and suited for Geographical Information System (GIS) application and can be used for land management purposes. This data set is not be used for defining boundaries.
