Weather Alerts
Environment Canada issues weather alerts about weather related hazards in order to notify those in affected areas so that they can take steps to protect themselves and their property from harm. Alerts are classified depending on the severity and timing of the subject event and include: warnings, watches, advisories and statements. Warnings are usually issued six to 24 hours in advance, although some severe weather (such as thunderstorms and tornadoes) can occur rapidly, with less than a half hours' notice.
ORV Management areas - 250k
ORV management areas are designate areas where off-road vehicle use is managed for the protection of ecological balance or physical characteristics within the area, including on mineral claims and in territorial parks. Off-road vehicle management areas can result from recommendations coming out of public planning processes, such as regional land-use planning, local area planning and special management areas such as Habitat Protection areas or parks. Governments and other groups, such as the Fish and Wildlife Management Boards and Renewable Resource Councils can submit a proposal that identifies ecologically-sensitive areas that off-road vehicle management areas could protect.Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Hemlock Woolly Adelgid Regulated Areas
To slow the spread of the Hemlock woolly adelgid to new areas, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) uses measures to control the movement of potentially infested materials. Slowing the spread of HWA will protect Canada's environment and forest resources. It also helps keep international markets open to the forest industry and nurseries in non-regulated parts of Nova Scotia and in non-regulated parts of Canada.
Ecological Reserve
Ecological Reserves are part of a network of Designated Areas. The goal of the network is to create and maintain a comprehensive, dynamic and accessible data set (digital map) that accurately defines land areas in Saskatchewan that have various levelUnique ecological reserves that are designed to protect representative areas of natural landscapes and to conserve biological diversity.
Ministry of Transportation (MOT) Retaining Wall
A Retaining Wall is a structure designed to protect the road infrastructure by retaining materials on the fill side to prevent road bed slips and by retaining materials on the cut side to prevent the road surface from being covered by debris. Retaining walls that are greater than or equal to 2m in height are stored in the MoT Bridge Structure Road dataset. It is a Linear feature
NCC Greenbelt Land use designations 2013
In the Greenbelt Master Plan (2013), the proposed land designations are a “classification” which assigns desired landscape character and uses to defined land areas across the Greenbelt. Areas are classified according to their desired role, whether to protect biodiversity, maintain agricultural resources, or accommodate permanent facilities. https://ncc-ccn.gc.ca/our-plans/greenbelt-master-planhttps://ncc-website-2.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/final-2013-greenbelt-master-plan-en.pdf#page=69
Georgia Basin Ecosystem Initiative Boundary - Polygon
The Georgia Basin Boundary dataset displays the extent of the Georgia Basin Ecosystem Initiative undertaken by the federal, provincial, and municipal governments. The objectives of the project are to support initiatives for clean air, clean water, habitat and species protection, and improved environmental decision-making in the Georgia Basin. The dataset consists of both a polygon layer and line layer
Georgia Basin Ecosystem Initiative Boundary - Linework
The Georgia Basin Boundary dataset displays the extent of the Georgia Basin Ecosystem Initiative undertaken by the federal, provincial, and municipal governments. The objectives of the project are to support initiatives for clean air, clean water, habitat and species protection, and improved environmental decision-making in the Georgia Basin. The dataset consists of both a polygon layer and line layer
NCC Ecological Land Mass (ELM)
The Ecological Land Mass (ELM) classification was established through the 2020 National Interest Land Mass (NILM) Update. ELM lands describe ecological corridors that have inherent natural values and that protect Species at Risk (SAR) and their habitats. The classification identifies lands to protect in perpetuity through planning and partnership efforts. ELM was derived from two separate analyses - the Ontario side from the AECOM natural linkages analysis (2012) and the Quebec side from Del Degan, Masse (DDM) ecological corridors analysis (2012). Adjustments were made as appropriate.
Representative Area Ecological Reserve
The Representative Area Ecological Reserves Regulations are part of the Protected Lands of Saskatchewan. The Representative Area Ecological Reserves Regulations are part of the Protected Lands System of Saskatchewan. Selected to represent specific enduring features (specific soil attribute combinations based on soil development, parent material, surface form, slope derived from the Soil Landscapes of Canada, Saskatchewan database, Version 2.1). Areas set to protect ecologically representative areas of Saskatchewan's ecoregions.
