Railways
The Base Features Access Railway spatial layer is the authoritative source of railway data for the province of Alberta. It is a part of the Access data collection which also includes roads, powerlines, cutlines and trails, and industrial facilities.
Oil and Gas Pipeline Installation Permits
Pipeline installations associated with an oil and gas pipeline activity. Installations include such features as flare stacks, generators, line heaters, pumps, risers, tanks and valves. This dataset contains point features collected on or after July 11, 2016 for approved installation locations. This dataset is updated nightly.
Railway Point Events
This layer contains point representation of railway stations and bridges along the Alberta railway network.
Oil and Gas Pipeline Installation Applications
Pipeline installations associated with an oil and gas pipeline activity. Installations include such features as flare stacks, generators, line heaters, pumps, risers, tanks and valves. This dataset contains point features for proposed applications collected through the BC Energy Regulator's Application Management System (AMS). This dataset is updated nightly.
Mining and Industrial Facilities
Saskatchewan Mining and Industrial facilities with permits managed by Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment (Environmental Protection Branch). The Ministry of Environment manages a dataset of mining and industrial facilities it regulates. This content will help increase awareness and transparency regarding these activities in the province. These include agricultural processing facilities, mining facilities, power generation facilities, oil and gas processing facilities, and industrial waste management facilities. For further information, please contact the Ministry of Environment Inquiry Centre (Toll Free) 1-800-567-4224, centre.inquiry@gov.sk.ca or visit the link on saskatchewan.ca. Locations are approximate and do not capture the entire facilities footprint. Information on this map is provided as a public service by the Government of Saskatchewan. Ministry of Transportation (MOT) Railroad Crossing
A Railroad Crossing is where the road surface is common to both the Railway Authority and the Ministry of Transportation Road Network; also includes overhead and under passes. It is a Point feature
Transport Networks in Canada - CanVec Series - Transport Features
The transport features of the CanVec series are derived from the National Road Network (NRN) and the National Railway Network (NRWN). The dataset describes roads, trails, bridges, railroads and their related information. The transport features include nautical facilities, track segments, track junctions, railway stations, track crossings, track marker posts, track structures, rail ferry segments, road segments, road ferry segments, road junctions, blocked passages, toll points, aerial cableway features, footbridges, trails, navigational aids, marinas and runways. The CanVec multiscale series is available as prepackaged downloadable files and by user-defined extent via a Geospatial data extraction tool.Related Products (Open Maps Links):[Topographic Data of Canada - CanVec Series](https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/8ba2aa2a-7bb9-4448-b4d7-f164409fe056)
Transport Line
This dataset contains manmade linear features in a transportation network, such as bridges and railway tunnels. It does not include roads. The linear features included are: * aerial cable ways * railway bridges * roadway bridges * railway and road bridges * pedestrian/cycle bridges * railway culverts * roadway culverts * parking lot limits * roads - edge * railway tunnels * roadway tunnels * road - under construction – edges We are no longer updating this data. It is best suited for historical research and analysis.
Trails - 250k - Canvec
Transport Features is composed of, among others, the National Road Network (NRN) and the National Railway Network (NRWN). Transport Features entities are: Nautical Facility, Track Segment, Track Junction, Railway Station, Track Crossing, Track Marker Post, Track Structure, Rail Ferry, Road Segment, Road Ferry, Road Junction, Blocked Passage, Toll Point, Aerial Cableway, Footbridge, Trail, Navigational Aid, Marina, and Runway. CanVec is a digital cartographic reference product of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). It originates from the best available data sources covering Canadian territory, offers quality topographical information in vector format and complies with international geomatics standards. CanVec is a multi-source product coming mainly from the National Topographic Data Base (NTDB), the Mapping the North process conducted by the Canada Center for Mapping and Earth Observation (CCMEO), the Atlas of Canada data, the GeoBase initiative and the data update using satellite imagery coverage (e.g. Landsat 7, Spot, Radarsat, etc.).Distributed from [GeoYukon](https://yukon.ca/geoyukon) by the [Government of Yukon](https://yukon.ca/maps) . Ontario Railway Network (ORWN)
The Ontario Railway Network (ORWN) is seven data classes that use the federal GEOBASE standard for the National Railway Network (NRWN) geospatial data. The seven data classes include: * track * crossing * junctions * marker posts * structure lines * structure points * stations Although the ORWN is mainly used as base data for cartographic products, users will also get railway-associated attributes.
