Manitoba Drainage Basins
Drainage basins of Manitoba.Hydrologic drainage basins found within Manitoba. The Assiniboine River basin is divided to indicate the Shellmouth Reservoir subbasin, to better illustrate local impacts and conditions. Basin names are in English and French.
Ontario Hydro Network - Waterbody
Waterbody types include: * Lake * River * Canal * Reservoir * Kettle lake * Pond * Beaver Pond * Ocean This product requires the use of geographic information system (GIS) software.
Reservoir Permits Over Crown Land
Province-wide SDE spatial layer displaying the approximate extent and providing the elevation of designated permitted power-storage reservoir areas over crown lands, along with water licence attributes. This layer is an instantiation of the spatial view WLS_RESERVOIR_PMT_LICENSEE_SVW
Radiocarbon dates, offshore Canada
Radiocarbon dates are derived from organic samples collected through marine and coastal expeditions of the Geological Survey of Canada Atlantic and Pacific. These efforts were conducted primarily to better understand the spatial and temporal coverage of sediments and seabed-fast marine ice during the last deglaciation. The quality of these data varies - ranging from imprecise bulk samples and more accurate AMS estimates derived from single shell fragments. These data are ordered in the menu in 1000 year divisions. By default, only conventional radiocarbon ages are displayed, and reservoir-corrected and measured ages are hidden.
FWCP Columbia Basin Dam Units
Units dividing the Columbia Basin in to BC Hydro reservoir-based watersheds
Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI)
The Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) has been recognized as the most accessible index for quantifying and reporting meteorological drought. On short timescales, the SPI is closely related to soil moisture, while at longer timescales, the SPI can be related to groundwater and reservoir storage. The model uses observed historical precipitation amounts to compute probability distributions which are then normalized using an incomplete gamma function over a range of timescales. The values can be interpreted as the number of standard deviations by which the observed anomaly deviates from the long-term mean. where positive values (greater than zero) result from above average conditions.
Saskatchewan Irrigation Projects - 2005
Series of Panchromatic orthophotos for 4 reservoir areas, Duncairn, LaFleche, Moosomin, Gouverneur taken in 2005. The photos were meant to coincide at a time when the reservoirs where at high flood supply levels (FSL).
Community Watersheds - Cancelled
This 1:20,000. scale inventory contains digital maps of cancelled community watershed boundaries. The watershed boundaries showed the location of watersheds that supply communities with domestic water. These are meant to be used in conjunction with stream network map coverages from TRIM mapping. Attribute data for community watersheds can be downloaded into a spreadsheet or database
Freshwater Atlas Assessment Watersheds
Assessment Watersheds are mesoscale aquatic units designed to replace the 3rd order 1:50K watersheds. Assessment Watersheds are based on groupings of fundamental watersheds using FWA watershed code and local code, with a target size of between 2,000ha and 10,000ha.
