Displays the levels of escalating enforcement applied by health officers to enforce the Manitoba Food and Food Handling Establishment Regulations when food safety violations are not corrected in the prescribed period of timeThis table displays the frequency in which health officers applied escalating levels of enforcement to food processors who did not correct food safety violations in the prescribed amount of time indicated in the inspection. Food processors are given a period of time to correct food safety violations based on the associated risk to food safety. Escalating enforcement is only applied if the violation is not corrected in the prescribed period of time. This table was created by the Food Safety and Inspection Branch - Agriculture and Resource Development department.Field Names (Field Alias): Field description. Period (Period):The period for which the data was collected. Either quarterly or yearly. Year (Year): The specific year of the previously mentioned data collection period. The number of violations observed is then classified into the category of critical or non-critical offenses. Critical violations are violations that present an immediate risk to food safety and must be corrected within a specified period of time. This dataset provides geospatial polygon boundaries for marine bivalve shellfish harvest area classification in Prince Edward Island, Canada. These data represent the five classification categories of marine bivalve shellfish harvest areas (Approved; Conditionally Approved; Restricted; Conditionally Restricted; and Prohibited) under the Canadian Shellfish Sanitation Program (CSSP). Data are collected by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) for the purpose of making applicable classification recommendations on the basis of sanitary and water quality survey results. ECCC recommendations are reviewed and adopted by Regional Interdepartmental Shellfish Committees prior to regulatory implementation by Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO). These geographic data are for illustrative purposes only; they show shellfish harvest area classifications when in Open Status. The classification may be superseded at any time by regulatory orders issued by DFO, which place areas in Closed Status, due to conditions such as sewage overflows or elevated biotoxin levels. Facility Category: The various license categories include: Food Processing — Facilities licensed in this category include food facilities that produce processed foods, for example, condiments, candies, candies, snack foods, and other prepared foods. Food storage, distribution, and repackaging — Licensed facilities in this category include facilities that store and distribute food products and that can perform basic repacking, for example, dry bulk products into small retail packages. Known concentration areas of the Atlantic razor clam in the Estuary and the Gulf of St. Lawrence
The dataset represents known concentration areas of harvested or unharvested Atlantic razor clam (Ensis leei) in the Estuary and the Gulf of St. Lawrence, Quebec Region. It was created for the National Environmental Emergencies Centre (NEEC) for preparation and response purposes in case of an oil spill. Concentration areas were defined using data from Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) inventories, various DFO research projects and commercial fisheries data. This layer is dependent on the inventories carried out and thus only represents the known areas of the Atlantic razor clam. This dataset does not represent the general distribution of the species nor the extent to which fishing is allowed. Most of the information comes from inventories that did not necessarily target this species, therefore its distribution is undoubtedly wider than what is recorded in the layer. In addition, the extent of shellfish beds can change over time in response to, among others, harvesting and recruitment rates. Some beds were mapped based on DFO research project data which were compiled in a benthic biodiversity Access database. Polygons drawn around these data are not precise and may be reviewed. However, the precision is sufficient for the resource protection and management needs in case of an environmental incident. Data sources and references:Anonym. 1991. Shellfish Water Classification Program – Marine Water Quality Data in Prince Edward Island
This dataset provides marine bacteriological water quality data for bivalve shellfish harvest areas in Prince Edward Island, Canada. Shellfish harvest area water temperature and salinity data are also provided as adjuncts to the interpretation of fecal coliform density data. The latter is the indicator of fecal matter contamination monitored annually by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) within the framework of the Canadian Shellfish Sanitation Program (CSSP). The geospatial positions of the sampling sites are also provided. These data are collected by ECCC for the purpose of making recommendations on the classification of shellfish harvest area waters. ECCC recommendations are reviewed and adopted by Regional Interdepartmental Shellfish Committees prior to regulatory implementation by Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO).This dataset is 'Deprecated'.
