ATS v4.1 Polygons - Legal Subdivision (LSD) with Road Allowance
Compiled by Alberta Data Partnerships Ltd. (ADP), on behalf of the Government of Alberta, the ATS v4.1 Polygons - Legal Subdivision (LSD) with Road Allowance layer contains polygons that represent the location of LSD and adjacent Road Allowance Segment polygons, derived from the Master Alberta Township System points file published as ATS Version 4.1, dated March 31, 2005, and clipped to an updated Alberta Data Partnerships Ltd. (ADP) created version of the Alberta provincial boundary. Legal Subdivisions and adjacent road allowance segment polygons are new data that were not available for publication at the inception of ATS Version 4.1.
TANTALIS - Crown Land Rights-of-way
TA_CROWN_RIGHTS_OF_WAY_SVW contains the spatial representation (polygon) of active and applied for Statutory Rights-of-way. Statutory rights-of-way are registerable in a Land Titles office, and are normally issued to authorize linear uses of Crown Land for transportation, communication, energy production and utility developments. They grant tenure holders right of passage for specific purposes and certainty respecting access to the land and use of improvements. They do not convey non-exclusive use - exclusivity may be granted for safety reasons. A legal survey is required to define the tenured area. The view was created to provide a simplified presentation of this single tenure type from the disposition information in the Tantalis operational system. The same content could be derived from the TA_CROWN_TENURES_SVW by filtering to this tenure type only
Census subdivision 2016
Census subdivision (CSD) is the general term for municipalities (as determined by provincial/territorial legislation) or areas treated as municipal equivalents for statistical purposes (e.g., Indian reserves, Indian settlements and unorganized territories). Municipal status is defined by laws in effect in each province and territory in Canada.Census subdivisions (CSDs) are classified into 53 types according to official designations adopted by provincial/territorial or federal authorities. Two exceptions are 'subdivision of unorganized' (SNO) in Newfoundland and Labrador, and 'subdivision of county municipality' (SC) in Nova Scotia, which are geographic areas created as equivalents for municipalities by Statistics Canada, in cooperation with those provinces, for the purpose of disseminating statistical data.The census subdivision type accompanies the census subdivision name in order to distinguish CSDs from each other, for example, Balmoral, VL (for the village of Balmoral) and Balmoral, P (for the parish / paroisse (municipalité de) of Balmoral).
Parks and Protected Areas of Alberta
The Parks and Protected Areas dataset contains Parks and Protected Area boundaries for sites administered by the Government of Alberta. National parks, because of their similar intent, are also included. GIS line work representing provincial park/protected area boundaries has been interpreted from written legal descriptions appended to Orders-in-Council granted Royal Assent by the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta. In case of discrepancy between the GIS data and the written legal description, the written legal description shall take precedence. The Government of Canada is the authoritative source for GIS boundaries of National Parks. National Park boundaries are included herein for reference, only. GIS line work representing National Park boundaries has been interpreted from written legal descriptions within Schedule 1 of the Canada National Parks Act, and adapted to align with the Alberta Provincial Base Features/Foundational Data collection. Defining document is Canada National Parks Act, Statues of Canada 2000, Chapter 32, Assented to 20th October, 2000. In case of discrepancy between the GIS data and the written legal description, the written legal description shall take precedence. Please note that this dataset replaces the following datasets: Ecological Reserve, Heritage Rangeland, National Park, Natural Area, Provincial Park, Provincial Recreation Area, Wilderness Area, Wilderness Park, and Wildland Park.
Subdivision Applications - Historical
The Land Planning Branch manages subdivision requests anywhere in Yukon, other than Whitehorse or Dawson. In order to divide or reconfigure any privately titled lot a subdivision approval is required. In the creation of new parcels from Yukon land, a subdivision application is made by Land Client Services, Land Management Branch on behalf of the applicant.Subdivision applications are typically decided upon within a 90 day timeline. Notification is often provided to property owners in the application area as well as publicly in the form of newspapers. Decisions for approval include conditions which must be followed to receive survey plan approval. Manitoba Original Survey Legal Descriptions
Feature layer depicting the centre of quarter sections, parish lots and others in Manitoba. The purpose of this layer is to provide search criteria for Manitoba legal descriptions.This feature layer is comprised of point locations that represent the centre of the bounds of the corresponding legal parcel. The types of legal descriptions include quarter sections (D.L.S.), river lots, parish lots, wood lots, outer two mile lots, and settlement lots. The point may not fall exactly on the centre of the legal parcel of land. This feature layer is meant as a search tool to locate the general location of the given legal description and it may not be exact. The points were initially derived from a variety of sources. Most of the points came from the Southern and Northern Grid of DLS section boundaries created by Sustainable Development. Fields included (Alias (Field Name): Field Description) OBJECTID (OBJECTID_1): Sequential unique whole numbers that area automatically generated Informal Legal Description (LEGAL_DESC): The informal legal description (No leading zeros on numbers). Formal Legal Description (LEGAL_DESC0): The formal legal description (Leading zeros on numbers). Type (TYPE): The type of legal division ('Quarter' = Quarter section, 'RL' = River lot, 'Lot' = Township lot, 'OT' = Outer two mile lot, 'PL' = Parish lot, 'SL' = Settlement lot, 'WL' = Wood lot). Quarter (QUARTER): Which DLS quarter section the point is referencing (NE, NW, SE or SW meaning respectfully North-east, North-west, South-east or South-west) Section (SECTION): The DLS section the point is referencing (1-36). Township (TOWNSHIP): The DLS township the point is referencing. Range (RANGE): The DLS range the point is referencing. Lot No. (LOT_NO): The lot number of the corresponding river, settlement, township, outer two mile or parish lot. Meridian (MERIDIAN): The meridian of the section (East 1, East 2 or West 1). Parish Name (PARISH_NAME): The name of the parish that the lot belongs to. Range Addition (RANGEADD): The added text for specific range values (if applicable).
Census Subdivision Boundary File 2024
The 2024 Census Subdivision Boundary File depicts the boundaries of all 5,028 census subdivisions, which combined, cover all of Canada. It contains the unique identifier (UID), name and type, as well as the UIDs, names and types (where applicable) of selected higher geographic levels.The 2024 Census Subdivision Boundary File is portrayed in Lambert conformal conic projection (North American Datum of 1983 [NAD83]) and is available as a national file.
TANTALIS - Surveyed Parcels
TA_SURVEY_PARCELS_SVW Contains the spatial representation (polygon) of all active primary and subdivision parcels of land that are or have been within the purview of the B.C. Crown Land Management program. The view was created to provide a simplified view of this data from the survey parcel information in the Tantalis operational system. Primary and subdivision parcels are the two types of parcels (as identified by the PARCEL_TYPE attribute) that are generally suitable for transfer of ownership

This service shows the median household after-tax income in 2015 for Canada, by 2016 census subdivision. The data is from the Census Profile, Statistics Canada Catalogue no. 98-316-X2016001.After-tax income - refers to total income less income taxes of the statistical unit during a specified reference period (for additional information refer to Total Income – 2016 Census Dictionary and After-tax Income – 2016 Census Dictionary). The median income of a specified group is the amount that divides the income distribution of that group into two halves.Census subdivision (CSD) is the general term for municipalities (as determined by provincial/territorial legislation) or areas treated as municipal equivalents for statistical purposes (e.g., Indian reserves, Indian settlements and unorganized territories). Municipal status is defined by laws in effect in each province and territory in Canada.To have a cartographic representation of the ecumene with this socio-economic indicator, it is recommended to add as the first layer, the “NRCan - 2016 population ecumene by census subdivision” web service, accessible in the data resources section below.Besides the variable described here, the dataset contains the id, name, type, province, population, land area and the number of private households for each census subdivision.If a value is null, it could be because it is not available for a specific reference period, it is not applicable, it is too unreliable to be published or it is suppressed to meet confidentiality requirements of the Statistics Act. This service shows the ratio of persons aged 0 to 14 and 65 and over (children and seniors) versus persons aged 15 to 64 (working-age) by census subdivision. The data is a custom extraction from the 2016 Census - 100% data.This data pertains to the total population by age. 'Age' refers to the age at last birthday before the reference date, that is, before May 10, 2016.
