Swan Lake, Alberta - Bathymetry (GIS data, line features)
All available bathymetry and related information for Swan Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.
Swan Lake, Alberta - Boundary (GIS data, polygon features)
All available bathymetry and related information for Swan Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.

Kokanee Shore Spawner Data - Okanagan Region
The Okanagan Lake kokanee shore spawner data set is comprised of multiple combined data sets. The historical data sets for the years 1974, 77, 78, 79 and 80 and more recent data sets collected from 2001 to 2016, and 2018. The historical data was derived from information collected in the field and hand drawn onto air photographs. Ministry staff circled Okanagan Lake in a boat one time each year and recorded fish numbers and spawner locations onto air photographs that were digitized in 2006 to make up the historical data set. This data set may not capture the peak reach count for these years. The data collected from 2001 to 2018 was derived from boat counts undertaken along the shoreline of Okanagan, Wood and Kalamalka Lakes. A GPS was used to record shore spawner locations and numbers. Multiple counts were undertaken over the entire spawning cycle and covered the peak spawning period for each year of data provided. The data collected for Christina Lake began in 2003 and ended in 2006. Christina Lake kokanee spawn at night in late December and early January. Kokanee spawning redd locations are available for the 2003/2004 count. Kokanee enumerations were undertaken at night for the 2004/2005 and 2005/2006 seasons and spawning redds were counted at the end of spawning cycle. For these two years there is both spawning and redd count data available.
Subsurface Stratigraphic Picks for the Beaverhill Lake Group and adjacent strata of the Elk Point and Woodbend groups, Alberta Plains (tabular data, tab delimited format, to accompany Open File Report 2014-05)
The dataset includes subsurface stratigraphic picks for the formations that comprise the Beaverhill Lake Group (Townships 29 to 113, Ranges 1W4 to 13W6) made from wireline geophysical well logs. The dataset also includes picks for the underlying Elk Point Group, and the overlying Woodbend Group. Lithostratigraphic picks for the Beaverhill Lake Group include the Fort Vermilion Formation, the Swan Hills Formation, the Slave Point Formation, and the Waterways Formation (top of the Beaverhill Lake Group). Lithostratigraphic picks for the underlying Elk Point Group include the Prairie Evaporite Formation, the Sulphur Point Formation, and the Watt Mountain Formation (base of the Beaverhill Lake Group). Lithostratigraphic picks for the overlying Woodbend Group include the Cooking Lake Formation, or its equivalent.
Hydro-conditioned LiDAR DEM of catchments near Swan Lake, Pembina River Watershed
This LiDAR DEM, originated from the Government of Manitoba (2019-05), was hydro-conditioned with a recent culvert inventory including GIS data from the Province of Manitoba for provincial highways as well as hard copy maps from the Rural Municipality of Lorne. It also included GPS and desktop surveys as part of a collaborative effort between Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Swan Lake First Nation, and Pembina Valley Watershed District. The hydro-conditioned DEM was used by the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) as input for hydrological modelling of catchments near Swan Lake flowing into the Pembina River (Pembina River Watershed, MB) to spatially target water-related agricultural beneficial management practices (e.g, flood management infrastructure, water retention structures, nutrient and sediment load reduction practices). The DEM spatial extent represents the area of interest referred to as the “Swan Lake Study Area”, as part of the Eastern Prairies Living Lab, AAFC (2019-2023).
Static-Water-Level Elevation Contours in the Grand Centre, Sand River, Ethel Lake and Muriel Lake Formations, and Empress Formation Unit 1 and 3 in the Cold Lake-Beaver River Drainage Basin (GIS data, line feature)
Alberta Geological Survey partnered with Alberta Environment (AENV) Northern Region to compile and analyze groundwater data in the Cold Lake-Beaver River Drainage Basin. This compilation and analysis assisted AENV and its stakeholders to complete an update of the Beaver River-Cold Lake Water Management Plan. This digital file provides the contours of the hydraulic-head distributions for the Grand Centre, Sand River, Ethel Lake and the Muriel Lake formations, and the Empress Formation Units 1 and 3 based on reported static-water levels from water wells within the study area.
Radionuclide Releases - Elliot Lake closed mine sites / Direct Discharge
This dataset contains the total annual releases of radionuclides released directly to the environment through direct discharge (i.e. releases to water) from the closed mine sites near Elliot Lake, Ontario, Canada.Note that there is no stack emissions for the Elliot Lake.
Okanagan Lake Reach Breaks
Set of arbitrary location points, usually set at landmarks (definable points on the lake shoreline such as shoreline points, docks, houses etc) to break the lake into identifiable areas to help fish counting crews to identify where they are on the lake
2021 - MB Swan Lake watershed 1m - Mosaic of High Resolution Digital Elevation Model (HRDEM) by LiDAR acquisition project
High-Resolution Digital Elevation Model (HRDEM) generated from LiDAR. This data collection includes a Digital Terrain Model (DTM) and a Digital Surface Model (DSM). The HRDEM product is referenced to the Canadian Geodetic Vertical Datum of 2013 (CGVD2013). Source data for HRDEM datasets is acquired through multiple projects with different partners. Since data is being acquired by project, there is no integration or edgematching done between projects. The data in this collection have been reprojected from the source reference system to the Canada Atlas Lambert projection (EPSG:3979). **This third party metadata element follows the Spatio Temporal Asset Catalog (STAC) specification.**
