NCC Urban lands Land designations 2015
In the Capital Urban Lands Plan (2015), Land designations identify the desired uses for federal urban lands in relation to the role they play for the Capital in a given location. Each land designation provides policy direction for an ensemble of sites that serve similar functions. https://ncc-ccn.gc.ca/our-plans/capital-urban-lands-planhttps://ncc-website-2.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/Capital-Urban-Lands-plan.pdf#page=45

NCC National Interest Land Mass (NILM)
The National Interest Land Mass (NILM) comprises a set of lands (mainly-NCC owned) considered essential to the functioning and experience of Canada's Capital. The NILM is the dominant tool guiding federal land management and ownership in support of Capital functions. The NILM was approved by Treasury Board in 1998 and the first update was approved in 2001. The 2020 NILM Update is the second update.
Urban level curves
The level curves are derived from a LiDAR survey carried out in May 2014.The equidistance is 25 cm, the absolute planimetric accuracy (XY) isof approximately 40 cm and the absolute altimeter accuracy (Z) is approximately 20 cm.The urban sectors covered are the urban perimeters of Rouyn, Noranda,Granada, Évain (partially), Lac-Dufault and the airport.**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).**

Contaminated Land Directory (GTC)
The GTC System makes it possible to compile information on land files.contaminated by industrial and commercial activities or by spillsaccidental. This is not an exhaustive inventory, but a compilation of cases brought tothe attention of the Ministry. It also includes information on land that isnow rehabilitated. The thematic layers of contaminated land allowlocate each georeferenced intervention site in the Operations Management Assistance System(SAGO) to which at least one contaminated land sheet is associated.**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).**
NCC Ecological Land Mass (ELM)
The Ecological Land Mass (ELM) classification was established through the 2020 National Interest Land Mass (NILM) Update. ELM lands describe ecological corridors that have inherent natural values and that protect Species at Risk (SAR) and their habitats. The classification identifies lands to protect in perpetuity through planning and partnership efforts. ELM was derived from two separate analyses - the Ontario side from the AECOM natural linkages analysis (2012) and the Quebec side from Del Degan, Masse (DDM) ecological corridors analysis (2012). Adjustments were made as appropriate.
Contiguously Settled Areas: Settlement footprints, 2010 and 2020
This product contains contiguously settled area (CSA) boundaries for a subset of Canadian population centres for 2010 and 2020.The CSA boundaries are derived from land cover data and represent the geographic extent of settled areas based on their physical footprint on the landscape. The boundaries can be used for reference, mapping and spatial analysis of settled areas and urban ecosystems. The CSA boundaries are created and maintained under the umbrella of the Census of Environment, and will support Statistics Canada’s ecosystem accounting efforts following the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting — Ecosystem Accounting (SEEA EA) framework. The primary purpose of the CSA boundaries is to represent the extent of the contiguous urban footprint and allow for the measurement of settled area expansion over time. They will also contribute to the urban and industrial ecosystem class in Statistics Canada’s ecosystem accounting efforts. The boundaries will be used for other types of urban ecosystem analyses, including measures of urban ecosystem condition and services. The CSA boundaries may also be used for urban thematic accounts or to inform where users of ecosystem services are located.Moving forward, CSA boundaries will be updated on an ongoing basis.
HRDPS Forecasted Accumulated Precipitation 24 hrs view
This polygon layer showcases ultra-fine (2.5 km) short-range precipitation forecasts from the High Resolution Deterministic Prediction System (HRDPS), a convection-permitting model by Environment and Climate Change Canada. It identifies local-scale rainfall or snowfall patterns up to 48 hours, supporting urban flood forecasting, severe weather response, and detailed water resource planning.Convection-Permitting: The HRDPS can explicitly resolve thunderstorms and other small-scale weather events by running at ~2.5 km. Short-Range Focus: Typically provides forecasts out to 36–48 hours, updated several times daily. Local Impact: Valuable for pinpointing high-impact precipitation in complex terrain or urban environments, aiding emergency managers and hydrologists in short-lead-time decisions. Nested Model: Receives lateral boundary conditions from RDPS, maintaining consistency with regional forecasts while refining detail in local domains.
