The __Counties of British Columbia__ contains areas of land within the Province of British Columbia representing legally defined administrative areas described in the County Boundary Act. The purpose of this division is for the administration of justice. The counties were delineated using provincial base mapping features, following the metes and bounds descriptions in the Letters Patent. Ministry of Transportation Regional Boundary is an exclusive geographic area within the province that the Ministry organizational unit is responsible for. Each Ministry Region is partitioned into one or more non-overlapping Ministry Districts that cover the entire Ministry Region

The purpose of this layer is to provide end users with a spatial representation of the Zones in adopted Zoning bylaws and their consolidated amendments in Manitoba. This layer is intended to be a source of data delivery as well as usage in situ.This dataset is comprised of boundary geometry representing the zones in the Zoning bylaws (as defined in The Planning Act) in force and effect within the Province of Manitoba. Spatial referencing of the zones is based on the best available land parcel data for each municipality. Where available, land parcel data based on registered survey plans and ground control coordinates was used. Otherwise, the reference grid maintained by Manitoba Sustainable Development was used. The delineation of the boundaries is set by the bylaw establishing or amending the boundary of each zone. Dataset content is subject to: Ongoing changes in zone boundaries which are determined by amendments to adopted Zoning bylaws or the adoption of new Zoning bylaws. Ongoing development and maintenance of the land parcel datasets. Improvements to the land parcel data are used to improve the positional accuracy of the zone polygons. As of the publication date of this dataset, the following known issues remain: For zone boundaries that include water boundaries, the water boundary that best reflects the intended zone boundary was used. In some instances, road allowances on a municipal boundary are included in both of the adjoining municipalities. Traditional territories of Yukon first nations and settlement areas of Inuvialuit and Tetlit Gwich'in within the Yukon Territory. A Traditional Territory is an area of the Yukon that the people of a First Nation have traditionally used. A First Nation's Settlement Lands fall inside the boundaries of its Traditional Territory. A First Nation does not own its Traditional Territory, but the First Nation and its benificiaries have a number of rights within their Traditional Territory, both on and off of Settlement Land. This data was built using the 1:250,000 National Topographic Data Base (NTDB) data as the base and the 1:500,000 hardcopy traditional territory maps as signed by individual First Nation chiefs on November 8, 1988 for the line work.The White River First Nation asserted traditional territory boundary in this dataset was updated on November 7, 2024.The Acho Dene Koe First Nation asserted traditional territory boundary in this dataset was updated on June 16, 2025.

Surveyed Borders are an Administrative Land Object that represents the spatial limits of a jurisdiction that is created and managed as a separate entity within the ICM database. In the original ICM dataset from NRCAN, this feature class is called Administrative Boundaries. Administrative Boundaries are available for the Yukon Territory, Northwest Territories and Nunavut and may include International, Provincial and Territorial boundaries. This cadastral framework provides a parcel base of properly structured vector data designed and suited for Geographical Information System (GIS) application and can be used for land management purposes. This data set is not be used for defining boundaries. Legally defined __Electoral Area__ polygons were drawn from metes and bounds descriptions as written in Letters Patent for Regional District Electoral Areas in the province of British Columbia. In the event of a discrepancy in the data, the metes and bounds description will prevail. Although the boundaries were drawn based on the legal metes and bounds descriptions, they may differ from how regional districts and their member municipalities and electoral areas currently view and/or manage their boundaries. Where discrepancies are noted, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs (the custodian) enters into discussion with the local governments whose boundaries are affected. In order to effect a change to the boundary, Cabinet approval is required. This is done through an Order in Council (OIC). While discrepancies to administrative boundaries are being resolved, boundaries may be adjusted on an ongoing basis until the requested changes are completed. The OIC_YEAR and OIC_NUMBER fields indicate the year that the boundary was passed under OIC and its associated number. The AFFECTED_ADMIN_AREA_ABRVN identifies the administrative areas that are affected by the OIC. Yukon First Nations and Tetlit Gwich'in settlement lands including both rural blocks (R-block) and Fee Simple lands of the First Nations that have ratified their agreements. Settlement land is land identified in a first nation's final agreement as settlement land of the first nation. There are three types of settlement land that a Yukon First Nation can own and manage: Category A: complete ownership of surface and subsurface; Category B: complete ownership of the surface only; Fee Simple: private ownership.
